He hasn't learned that it's a TEAM sport. When he does... he'll become great.

Well at least that should clear up all the Jordan comparisons (even in the eyes of the Lebron supporters)

Actually, I think he tried to play TOO MUCH "team" ball, and not enough ME-Ball....

Hiding in the corner is not exactly playing "team" ball

Dude, I understand fighting the good fight...but this is all but a lost cause! Lebron shot 25% from the field in the 4th quarter scoring 2.2 points on average in the finals 4th quarter. That's garbage play. He choked, he may eventually be ready for the big stage where all his talents will shine through, but he is miles from being there. Lebron has a long way to go to be the best of his generation, much less the best ever!

    Got two amusing texts yesterday.

A girl asks Lebron for change for a dollar, he hands her 75 cents. She says mister that's not fair I need another quarter to which he replies sorry, I only have three quarters.

The new Lebron iPhone came out today, it only has a vibrate mode because it still has no rings.

The mavericks exposed two of Lebron's biggest weaknesses...which are lack of a mid-range game and post up moves.

Guys like Koby, D-Wade, and Dirk have some of the best mid-range games in the NBA which makes them tougher to defend.

I am not a really big NBA fan, so could someone please enlighten me? Can any of you list 5 or more players in the league that have equal/near equal Lebron like offensive skills and superior defensive skills? I really don't know.

Actually, for 2011, LeBron had the 3rd highest mid-range shooting percentage in the league. Only behind Ray Allen and Dirk. Better than Kobe, Wade, Melo, etc.

The finals exposed LeBron's fragile psyche.

I heard that midrange stuff on Mike and Mike this morning and laughed then too. Lebron is a good player, he choked in this years finals but was great the rest of the season (including the rest of the playoffs). It'll be interesting to see where he goes from this point. Will he continue to choke in big games or will it motivate him? Personally I was glad Dallas won. I like Dirk and Cuban, and I didn't like "The Decision" which turned me off to Lebron. Just my .02.

    My thoughts exactly.

If that is true...then why are so many NBA analyst (many former NBA players and coaches) sighting the lack of a mid-range game as problem for Lebron? Maybe he is ok if he recieves a pass and is wide open for 15-18 ft? But can he create his own shot from that range off the dribble and score with any consistancy? Does he have any post moves to take advantage of guys defending him who are much shorter than he is (JJ Barea, Jason Terry, etc)?

It's about more than just psyche.

I don't know. Maybe they are just having knee jerk reactions from the Finals. He jumpshot was not falling during the Finals, so people are assuming his jumpshot game is weak. It's just not true. His jumpshot might look awkward, but it is effective.

LeBron's best game is taking people off the dribble.

This is his greatest flaw. He has no post game. For someone with his size and power, he should have some type of post game, especially when smaller players get matched up on him.

In the Finals, I think it was mostly his psyche. He dominated Chicago.

Not "fighting the good fight," by any means, the guy just kept looking like he was giving the ball up, rather than taking control of the game like he's shown he can do on any other given night. He looked like he wanted his boy D-Wade to win it for them, rather than put it on his shoulders and carry the team himself. It's not that he only shot 25% from the field in the 4th, but he didn't even hardly shoot the ball..... I'm baffled. He single-handedly beat Chicago, made sure that Boston's "Monkey" was off his back, then he just didn't look like the same player in the series with Dallas.

No discredit to Dallas though, they found more points off their bench than anyone would have imagined. In all honesty, Jason Terry or J.J. Berea had as much claim to the MVP as Dirk, considering the way they ignited the offense in the last 2 games.

Sadly, Lebron is looking like he can't stand the "heat" when all the chips are on the table. Watching the two previous series, it looked like his time had come, then he just went flat.

Statistically, he had pretty good numbers, but he never played up to the potential that he was expected to at any point in the series. And I don't think it was that Dallas is that good as much as it was that he just didn't deal well with the pressure....

Spoelstra looked like he was at a loss, and understandably so because he couldn't get inside Lebron's head and get him into the game. Maybe Phil Jackson's little "Zen" thing could work on him??? He just had NO AGGRESSION it seemed in the entire series. He was averaging about 9 free throw attempts per game during the playoffs (which is also close to his career avg. 8.9FT/gm) and averaged only 3.3 during the finals??? That's just puzzling!!!

At least last year when people said he "quit" he put up pretty good numbers and showed a little aggression. During the Boston series, he avg. 11.6FT/gm!!! And in the final game as a Cavalier, he posted up 27pt, 19reb, and 10 assists.

Any NBA player is going to shoot well from 15-18 feet. While Lebron had the third highest mid-range shooting percentage certainly surprised me, it can't be used to justify the argument that he does in fact have a mid range game, because he doesn't.

He can make mid-range shots, but he can't score from the mid-range, there's a very strong difference. Rip Hamilton, Kobe, Dirk, Carmelo can all score from the mid-range.

My brother and I used to play 1-1 and the rules were no shots in the lane and you had a minimum of 3 dribbles to create your shot. This made it extremely difficult to score because you HAD to have skills that translated into success from the mid range. In a game like this, Lebron would struggle mightily because he has no skill set other than a quick pull up dribble off the left hand.

Tremendous talent. Freak of nature athlete. He simply doesnt have the "it" factor. Doesn't have that attribute that can't be taught or your athletic ability can cover for. He potentially could be the best ever if he did, but he doesn't. That's why he'll never be a Jordan or Kobe.

or Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, Tim Duncan, Larry Bird....

I am not even a basketball guy and I just added 4 more to the list. I am sure some of you could add 10 more that were better ball players than Lebron. I am not taking anything away from Lebron. He has a long way to go to even be named the best player in his era, let alone the history of the nba.
