LeBron showed Derrick Rose who the REAL MVP was, and it wasn't even CLOSE!!! I do believe we are watching the GREATEST (to date) Basketball player tha has ever played the game. Maybe 15yrs. from now some other kid will show up and be better, but no one to this point I've ever seen is in the same league as this guy!!!

He plays on BOTH sides of the ball, while he may be the most potent OFFENSIVE threat in the league, he's also probably the BEST Defender in the league!!!

I agree with the fact he is a freak of nature, but it is a little easier when your second option is Wade and then Bosh. Rose plays both ends and relys on Deng or Boozer. For the record, i do not think Rose is even on the same class as Lebron, but even MJ did not get the award every year.

I do find it funny that the world and Scottie Pippen wants to bury MJ so bad. Let me make this clear, Lebron is not even in the same galaxy when it comes to on the court KILLER...MJ would simply will his way to wins, he may shoot 80 times to do it, but so be it. We were just discussing this yesterday at work, there was a reason no one can remember all these quotes or scenarios on MJ, he simply killed you on the court and went home. He is Nike, he is the greatest player ever, not greatest freak (6' 8 and faster than anyone on the court like Lebron).

The thing that will always linger is Lebron joined forces to get it done, and he is a follower all the way around. He acts like other guys etc...MJ made other guys act like him. Can you imagine if MJ had gotten Dominique or the likes to join him and Pippen, good lord they would have won 80.

In his defense, we made Lebron the diva he is, the world has been on his sack since he was in the 9th grade, and he has made the most of it.

Most of my post is useless info, but before we give the king the all time crown, at least let him get a few more pieces of jewelry to go with his throne.

Lebron isn't the best player to play the in League. He's finally starting to figure it out, but he's got a long way to go to be considered the best to ever play the game.

Lebron is not worthy of even being mentioned with the greatest players who have ever played until he proves he can lead a team to not ONE...but MULTIPLE championships.

Not really.... Karl Malone was a GREAT player, one of the best that played the game yet he never got the hardware. LeBron WILL have the HARDWARE soon enough, no doubt about that. And LeBron may have Wade and Bosch, but in all honesty, I think Boozer USED to be a better player than Bosch, and Wade is definitely the second fiddle there. 5 yrs. from now people will be a bit more affirmative of it, but I've been saying it for a few years. Ask Dwight Howard and the Magic about that game where LeBron took over and WILLED that team to a victory scoring 25 straight points and dunking in Dwight's face like he was a little kid. That was just a flash of what we've seen this season and will see in the future. At 26, his stat's are comparable to MJ's except he can also PASS the ball.

Not QUITE, if LeBron were in LA with that same cast as Kobe we'd have been talking about a 7-peat.....

When I'm thinking of the best players ever it's Jordan (1#), Magic (2#), then guys like Bird, Russell, Chamberlin, Oscar Robinson, Olajuwon, Duncan, Bryant

Lebron could get there...but he hasn't yet. Saying he is the greatest player who as ever played is a joke at this point. What if he completely chokes in the championship....which would not surprise me actually

All i'm saying is wait until he actually acomplishes some big things before putting him ahead of the guys who have proven themselves on the big stage.

No dought LJ is a very good player, however, we'll find out how his career treats him??? T.B.D.

Stats are ONLY one thing that makes a great player, peer recognition for achievments and championchips are another...

    Cooter/MN got the right idea

WRONG, what I know is that Kobe is a GREAT player, but he has always had a GOOD cast around him when he's been successful. LBJ hasn't been privy to that until this season, and while he has a GREAT couple players , the rest of that crew is less than optimal.

LBJ is a better passer, defender and a comparable scorer to Kobe, yet he's a bit less selfish. He's like a nice blend of Magic and MJ, a scorer AND a passer, yet he's also a shut-down defender.

I vote for Karl Malone as the hottest NBA player ever.

    Yep, that's my contribution here.

    Carry on...

just want to add my 2 cents.....MJ, the rings speak for them self.... Magic, could dominate a game and never score, plus, could play ALL positions. (ask the celtics). But in a time of free agency, championships are overrated, in measuring ones greatness (IMO). So, with all being said,,,,, Let's not ever forget The Big O. He only won 1 ring back in the day. He sets the standard for the triple double. For a career, not just playoff.....Bird, plan a simple, you gotta to love this guy. Can't run, can't jump, slow as leap year.
It's just hard to compare, different positions, and different times, and totally different players.

A 7 peat?? Seriously, 7 championships in a row. You lost all credibility with that post alone.

Lebron is not on Kobe's level as a scorer. Kobe can score whenver he wants to from wherever on the floor. Lebron is very limited on offense in terms of his skills. His freakish athleticism can get him to the rim whenever he wants, but he lacks Kobe's footwork and post game to score consistently and only shoots effectively when he drives left, or pulls up off the left handed dribble.

Lebron does pass very well. He is a very unselfish player and controls the game very well.

I think LeBron could be on the same level as a scorer as Kobe, yet he just doesn't play quite as SELFISH as Kobe. Remember, he's led the league in scoring a couple times all the while he was also PASSING the ball. Ironically, I think Scottie Pippen may be deemed correct, but it's gonna be about 10 yrs. before people realize it.

The BEST basketball I've ever seen was when LeBron took the game over against Orlando and WILLED that team to a win. I don't think Kobe, or MJ could have done what he did in that game, regardless of how great I believe they both are/were, that was HANDS DOWN, the BEST basketball I've ever seen.

While in Cleveland Lebron touched the ball nearly every single possession, that being said he HAD to create plays for others and himself. If everything runs through a player they will accumulate stats. Even bad QBs throw for a lot of yards. Lebron's incredible yes, but take away his athleticism right now and what do you have as far as being a scorer.

Kobe's feet make him untouchable as the best scorer in the game (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qsN42C_XoU). Lebron either penetrates or pulls up, there is very little as far as a back to the basket low post, mid post or high post game. If he develops that, it'll be scary, until then though Kobe's still king as the league's best scorer.

Well said. Lebron may get there someday if he works at it, but right now, his scoring skills are limited. That doesn't mean he can't score, but there are not a lot of ways he can consistently score. He powers to the rim, or he occasionally gets his jumper going. Thats about it. I can't believe this guy hasn't developed a post game yet??? Especially with size, strength, and passing skills.

Not ripping the guy, but if you talk about greatest of all time, there needs to be nitpicking.
