Jeff's thread got me thinkin about the end result ... I don't want to sabotage his, so ..... You have heard many, if not all hunters say after a particular hunt, and sometimes a particular season, that it was one of the most memorable they have had AND they didn't kill anything ..... I've said it .... Bottom line IMO, I have NEVER met a guy that has hunted for many years and has NEVER killed ANYTHING ... I mean those exciting close encounters would lose their luster if they NEVER killed anything ...... those sunrises that take your breath away ....if they never ended with a dead animal on the ground, their beauty would eventually be overlooked ...... We ARE ultimately out there for one reason .... to take the life of our intended target... but if that NEVER happened I wonder how many guys standard would drop JUT ENOUGH to bring something home? I suppose there isn't a guy on this site that could answer that question 100% accurate, as you all prolly have killed already ..... just early morning rambling bfore I head out and kill some bunnies for the pot :d
Hey T ....time to drop some "Deep Thoughts" on BH.com :d As far as the bunnies ..... I'm a good boy now
Well, I can say that after 7 or 8 (can't remember) years of taking vacation time and saved money to go out west after elk and not killing (or getting a shot at mind you) a bull the close encounters lose A LOT of their luster. They are still fun and exciting, but they are also somewhat frustrating. I have often felt like I might as well save my shoulder and back the discomfort of carrying my bow while I am out there. Still a great time. Still worth doing. However, it certainly isn't what it used to be if you know what I mean. Now, the good side is when I actually am able to kill one, it will be one of the best hunting related moments of my life.
Gri22ly .....due to the incredible success you have had in the past, I don't know if you can comment on this thread bottom line..... you're over qualified :d
