Anyone own one of these. The Judge by Taurus. Shoots a 45 caliber and 4-10 shotgun shell. I think it would be the perfect "carry" side arm for my seasons out here. During archery deer and elk we can rifle hunt bears or shoot a mountain lion if you happened across one... we can grouse hunt etc.. We can pack a bow and a sidearm here during archery. Wolves possibly if the feds get their heads out of their arse too... Finally while shed hunting in Jan.. I can shoot grouse..

Just curious if anyone has one, how's the accuracy with the 4-10 and what barrel length do you have?

A friend has one that I've shot a few times. I couldn't tell you about accuracy, we shot 410 shells. It was fun to shoot with a nice bark when you pull the trigger. I don't really need one, but I'd like to have one to mess around with.

Thanks Dave, how was the recoil? How far out (range) were you shooting the 4-10s, could ya pop a grouse at 20 yards ??

With that short of a barrel I am gonna guess that 20 yards would be a bit far.

My brother has one with the short barrel and my brother-in-law has one with the long barrel. My BIL got to shoot a grouse with it this fall. He had it for about two months, then his house got broken into and they stole it.

We (his parents, my wife & I) replaced it for Christmas :tu:

If you're not worried about concealment, this is the gun I'd get. You can literally shoot anything with it :D

Recoil was ok. I've never even seen a grouse, but I think that might be a big far unless you use 00buck.:biggun::D

I've been at the range while people were shooting them. Recoil isnt that bad. I dont believe you are going to get any useful pattern to shoot a grouse with past more than several feet, regardless of barrel length.

A good option for you might be the taurus tracker 5 shot 44 mag. I have a 4" barrel one. Light enough to carry all day hiking or fishing, and will still pack some punch against 4 footed toothy critters.

My dad has one. I think he has the 2 3/4" model. The 410 would be good for grouse out to 12-15yds i'd imagine. The buckshot is where this thing really shines. We shot from 25yds and it kept a pattern about the size of a paper plate

I have never shot it, but it would be an awesome gun to have when your out fishing in snake country. My Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 has a hard time hitting snakes (I should say I do :D)
