While most people's seasons are ending mine is just beginning. Maybe it's my OCD but I find amazing joy in building my own arrows ....well heck arrows, bullets, fishing lures. It just gives me time to relax, think, and create my own tools for enjoyment. Who else enjoys this part? Sent from my LM-G710VM using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Yep I enjoy building arrows, reloading ammo, tying flys. I get more satisfaction when I’m successful in what I’m pursuing.
I'm a DIYer in lots of things. I'm an NASP coach and repair the arrows for the team. I tell them when they break a nock or tear a vane, it means they are shooting tight groups.
Adding- yes, love it! To me, part of the outdoor experience is the reloading, casting bullets and sinkers, tying flies, building rods. These "substitute" for the time not spent outdoors or bring back memories of the hunting or fishing trips.
I agree, I love to tinker around. I really enjoy putting together a new set of arrows, one of my favorite things. I think it is also why I like traditional muzzleloading. So many things you can make yourself in that hobby.
Last off season was my most un-involved in a longtime. I had a lot of other irons in the fire but this year will be different. I’m vowing to shoot my bow more, experiment more with arrows and possibly new broadheads. I’ve been using same broadheads pretty much since I started Bowhunting. Slicktricks. Nothing wrong with them but time to spread my wings. I’m also going to run cameras through the summer months and find a bunch of trees and trim lanes while shed hunting.
