Good deal, from what I have heard don't shoot the NoCam unless you feel like spending the money haha. I have yet to shoot it for that reason.
I have heard they are pretty nice. I shot my brothers Hoyt the other day and really liked it. I am thinking my Bowtech may get traded in at the end of this season for something different.
Being from WI I am a Mathews guy all the way. Every bow but my first has been a Mathews. As my sig says that is what I shoot and its an unbelievable bow!
5 days until opening day for me. I should have 50 points on the board with a doe down that same day. Can't wait!!
Well had a fairly productive weekend down at our property even though it was hotter then crap out. I brushed in a new blind, cut up some downed trees, checked cameras, & filled the feeder for the last time. My food plots aren't looking great. They aren't bad I was just hoping for better just never got the rain soon enough. My two shooters I am after are still showing up regularly on two different cameras in daylight & at night I will post a few pics tomorrow. Now it's time to hurry up and wait for Oct. 7th Sent from my QMV7A using Tapatalk
Good luck! Put one on the board. Sounds like a productive time out Henson, we're all with you one the hurry up and wait part! I still have a little more I need to catch up on, but all in all I'm ready to roll.
Wow that was a Crappy Bear Hunt, 6 hunters hunted 6 days and no one saw a bear, guide tried to tell us they were being hit at night but I had 2 cameras on my baits and nothing but coons. They had 6 dogs running loose in camp and stunk up the place, oh well I guess it wasn't meant to be, next year I will be in a different camp for sure..
Man that does stink! Is that the first time going with that outfit? Looking good Henson, a lot of nice bucks you got running around!
I trapped there last year and owner said he was going to fix all the problems they had, but they only got worse, time to find a new place to trap a bear in maine.. Well I am going to cut trails this weekend and hang a few new stands and get ready for Oct 1st.
Went out mid morning and scouted the property where I killed the 160" in 2013. Go figure with the crop rotation it is almost identical to what it looked like in 2013! I saw a lot of deer sign and their travel routes are almost identical. Some of the tracks were big... Most importantly I didn't see any tree stands in there yet nor did I find any hint someone else had been down in there. It has me a little excited.... I already have a plan of attack if the wind cooperates early. Unfortunately south winds are horrible for that property so getting in there on the right day can be difficult. Especially early season....
Well I stuck out Monday evening in Ky. It was 87 degrees and the neighbor was made that I was hunting so he rode his four wheeler around the whole time I was in the stand. Wasted trip. But we got things worked out with him and we will head back down come sunday. Also my big target buck in ohio is showing up in three different locations and I think he is going to be in trouble come the 26th. We are getting a real good idea of where he is hanging out so hopefully he will be down opening weekend.
Hopefully another 160" is in your future Hecker. Bry why was the guy mad you were hunting? Private land I'm guessing? Hopefully you deal the deal on the Ohio buck, if it's the one you posted pics of in the other thread he's a dandy. I'm pulling cam cards tomorrow hopefully some good pics to follow.
Yeah I didn't know that this guy had permission to hunt as well and the property owner isn't a hunter so he didn't really understand that it could lead to some head knocking. The property owner is my buddies (nco22) dad and he talked to him and all is well now. The neighbor has since said that he would be willing to help us with food plots and pay for half of it. Should be a good relationship in the future. As far as the ohio buck, Yeah its the one with the big kicker off of his g-2. We are really pinning him down. Last year a was to afraid of bumping him to make to much of a move on him but have decided this year is the year. I walked a creek to see if I could tell where he was crossing to put a cam up and got him on the second try. We know where he eats and we are close to where he beds. If hes still there on the opener we have a shot at him. If hes not we will stay out til rut and im sure he will be there. Looking forward to seeing your what you get on your pull
I hope everything works out for you Bry. I have been sitting here all day catching up on some hunting podcasts while I work. I like the Meateater podcast with Steven Rinella and the Wired to Hunt podcast with Mark Kenyon they are both pretty good. The Wired to Hunt podcast has great information my favorite episode was when he had Mark Drury on to talk weather and deer. As usual I am getting far to excited for deer season like a kid waiting for Christmas to get here LOL! I hope everyone else is ready for the season. I am as ready as I can be as far as getting my stands and plots ready to go. I will go over my gear soon and get it all washed and ready for my first hunt. In the mean time I have been shooting my bow a lot. I practice out to 50, 60, & 70 yards. It really seems to have tightened up my groups at 40 yards and closer.
Wi opener Saturday and then I'll hunt MN opener the following week. Curious what pops up on the cams too.
Been hunting this guy the last two weekends but weddings are getting in the way of hunting as much as I would like... And last Sunday a my dads buddy who hunts with us our land brought his 11 year old son out since it will be his first year bow hunting and he sat in a stand with no bow and had him at 20 yards for about 20 minutes at 7 in the evening so hopefully that's not the "one chance you get at a big one" moment Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
