I'm set in both states I hunt. 1 stand I will re-trim when I go in to sit it 1st time but otherwise I've logged about 40 hours moving, re-hanging and adding new sets this summer. Only areas I don't have sets ready are those which I use my LW run and gun set ups in. I hammered shooting earlier this summer, but have lagged as of late and that needs to rev that up the next 2 weeks. I pulled cams after a nice soak yesterday in WI and was disappointed. Lots of good up and comers, but there are 4 big boys that made it from last season and I haven't seen them on cam or while velvet scouting so not sure what that means yet. DOesn't look good for targeting on of those early at this point. Good luck getting out with your son Heckler!

Re-post in case you guys aren't following my thread in Food Plots and Habitat improvement.

Did a bunch of work over the weekend. I cut two trails in to the back of the property and set up a boss buck feeder. Getting a lot of pics of does but not much in the way of bucks yet as I have been trying to be least intrusive. To be honest I have been somewhat discouraged so far but can see the light once again! I found a dead head in the creek just below my pond at the back of the property and its a giant!!! I wish I would have found him before he was chewed up!

Here it is after I cleaned it up.

That's pretty awesome. As far as not getting man bucks on camera as long as you have the does the bucks will show up eventually.

That's a dandy buck! Good find for sure . I agre with Henson the Bucks will show, that's usually the case for a handful of spots I hunt. I just found out that an area I hunt opens September 19th for both doe and Buck, they usually only had an early doe season. Looks like I'll be getting out a few weeks earlier I'm pumped!

That's a lot of antler you have there Heck! Great find. I can only dream of seeing something like that in my woods.

Also, shouldn't our team name (Huntsmen) appear instead of "team 27" on our team thread?

I will be at our place this weekend putting the final touches on everything and checking cameras.

Good Luck to everyone who gets to hunt in early Sept.

Pa Archery opens Sept 19th in my WMU (5-D), but if this heat keeps up I'll wait some. The thing with hunting in the heat, it means you HAVE TO find your deer within a few hours of shooting it, or the meat's no good.

Oh, how do you get the team logo where the signature is?

Go to settings and on the left hand side there will be an Edit Signature choice. Underneath the box where you can enter text will be a place for you to upload the picture.

On the off chance you don't know how to get the picture just right click on one of ours and save image as...

Good luck, I'm with early in. Season doesn't open up until Sept 19th but my WMU is 2B. And other properties at different WMU's I'll be checking cams and making some last touches.

Did a lot of work at my hunting place today. I had a guy come out with a dozer and cleanup a bunch of scrub and dead trees. I also had him cut a hole in the east tree line to my ag fields so we can get equipment in/out. Checked the cams, Had my first buck pic however it was hazed over pretty bad due to the humidity. He may be something or nothing. Looks like a high and tight and heavy horned with a big body. Beyond that the pic is to bad to tell much more.. I was just excited I finally got a pic of a buck after a month and 3 pulls. Don't think it was anything I would shoot. Also shot my bow quite a bit. Struggling a bit with the new hha sight. I am out of windage adjustment and can't figure out why...

Looks like a good buck, as far as the HHA I never had to max out my windage. Could your bow be out of wack a little bit and might have to move your rest over a bit? I dunno I would just go through the tuning steps unless you were all good before, then I dunno?!

Yah, I dunno. I've been fighting this for sometime. I had a similar problem with my optimizer light. I am going to take it in to the bow shop and let an "expert" eyeball things. I know just a 1/16" on the rest could equal a big change.

Your shop will be able to help you out, it's prob something so simple. Let us know what it was, I'm curious.

I am going to guess it is your arrow rest. Also while your their you might have them paper tune it as well just to make sure your set and ready to go for the season.

We paper tuned it last time I was there. That's the very reason the rest is where it is at. I am to the point where I am ready to strip everything off and start over. Something isn't right. I am actually thinking about shimming / placing a spacer between the riser and the sight to get it where I want it to be.. At the same time I should have to do this and it drives me crazy!

One thing that I noticed that was making my windage off was my stance. I never noticed it till this year but if I am more open to the target I shoot left and if im more closed I shoot right. Don't know if this might have something to do with it or not.

I took it into the pro shop. He said if anything my sight was out of alignment just a tad with my rest. He indicated he thought it was a slight if any form issue but nothing he would be concerned about. He encouraged me to leave it as is as I do have about 1/4 inch to work with yet. He told me if I had any problems with me broad heads to move my rest just s smidgen to get the POI to match my field tips. I guess I just needs some reassurance / sanity check. At the same time he ordere a new left hand No Cam he wants me to try out. :)
