Checking in...I'm usually good for a doe the first 2 weeks of the season. Season in NJ starts in less than month :). I hunt both private and public so I hope to have something with antlers down later on in the season.

Here are some pics of a few deer I have running around @ our place in Indiana. Ignore the September date on some of the pics it should be August

I think you will make a a fine El Capitán henson! Great inventory as well. I've been saying its a Indiana was a sleeper state for years! :) Really over looked by the majority of out of state hunters.... :p

Well think up a team name Heckler. I have the best of both worlds I get to hunt Illinois as a resident and also Indiana's non resident cost isn't to bad compared to others.

Anybody know how a Velvet buck would be scored? I know B&C wont score a velvet buck.

For the contest you would just score it like you normally would. If you wanted B&C to score it you would have to strip the velvet to the bone.

I'm good with you being captain as well, as far as team name it doesn't matter to me at all. Good looking bucks no doubt. I'm heading to ohio in the morning to hang some stands and put some more cams up and check some cards. Hopefully some good bucks are smiling for me.

Yeah I am definitely pumped for the season. We hold a lot of does on our place so early November & the rut can get pretty exciting because we will pull deer in from all over the area.

I am good with henson59 being Captain and now we need a name, I will leave it up to the Captain to pick, seen a nice buck this morning in my sunflower patch while I was out reducing the tree rat population and they are cleaned and wrapped in bacon and in the smoker for lunch, going to fertilize the clover patches one last time and brush in some duck blinds and shoot my bow, well rounded out day..Hope everyone has a good weekend..

When does everyone's season begin? My begins the 15th of Sept.. Traditionally I typically hunt the first week to see if I can catch one early. Not sure if I am going to be able to to that this year or not.

Sept 15th is nice and early. You ever shoot a velvet buck? Well Ohio opens Sept 28th and my home state Pa is October 3rd. I typically don't hunt ohio till the middle of October unless I can get a buck to regularly visit an area. As far as PA I have s good bit of new land to try and some great private that hasn't let me down.
