Well now that season is over, i took the ole trusty Centroid and turned it into a target bow. I dropped the draw weight to 60lbs, lowered the letoff to somewhere in the 65% range, put on a big ole homemade stabilizer, and gave myself only one pin to focus on, and im shooting a scott Longhorn back tension. Shes been collecting dust since the arrival of my Carbon Spyder, so it feels good to be nailing X's with it again. Heres my first scored round with this setup from thisafternoon, 298 with 16 X's
Why don't you put a knife on the end of the stabilizer and stab the deer when it walks under the tree
Nice shootin Tex. Gradually shorten the stabilizer until you can use it to hunt, then you're good to go by season.
Thanks guys, i know the stabilizer looks stupid, but its incredible how much easier it is to hold my pin on target until the shot breaks. Ill be honest its made out of 3/4" PVC pipe so its pretty lightweight. It was actually made as a joke to mess with a friend who is a target shooter, but after shooting it and deciding to convert my bow over i thought "why not". It only cost me $2 to make. I have my Ktech tech twin set aside for when it goes back in the woods, wont need any bayonets on the target stabilizer
Try adding a side bar and a touch of weight to the back and see what happens. Good looking round by the way.
I actually had my ktech on the side facing rearward and the weight on the left side was too much, so im going to have to play with it and see what helps. So far its balancing pretty spot on, but some rear weight would definitely help
Add some weight to the front and the side and it makes a big difference. Play around with it some and see what differences it makes. I love the centroid by the way. That's what I shoot.
