Meet Marco. I’m starting this and I’m going to keep it updated on my hunt for this deer. He was my target buck last year but I got trigger happy before I got a chance to get an attempt at him. What can I say I love shootin bucks lol. But anyways, Marco from what I know is still alive. My property I hunt is his core area. I have tons of pictures of him from velvet to rut. And I’m hoping this year will be the same. Image1624398046.004847.jpg on this pictures I’ve simply drawn out what I think his path is. I have pictures of him on the yellow marked areas and pictures of him walking that path by the tree line at the bottom of the picture. That stand marker at the bottom is where we just hung a stand where I will have a shot at both fields and where he was crossing the creek last season. Ignore the other markers because they will move as I get this woods set for hopefully my best season yet.
We did do a little scouting the other day and found some food producing trees 60 yards off a know buck bedding area so I’ll see about hanging a stand there as well. I’ll take any tips or suggestions from anyone on how to move in properly on this mature buck without spoiling him away!

Alright fellas this means deer season has officially started for me! LETS SCOUT!

Image1624546407.114483.jpg went threw and marked known trails that the deer take on the property so I can figure out where stands need to go and where pinch points are that I can sit on the ground at. I think they are traveling that creek bottom more then I thought so I may focus some more attention there during season

I would assume it would still be too early but camera will probably go out this weekend. I’ve only got one ☹️

Usually I would agree with you but this year I have some of last years “rut bucks” still hanging around. A good velvet picture would be cool to frame next to him!

Well I’ll have the camera out this weekend. I have a really nice velvet pic of him from last season so time to find him and get another one this season

You gonna pick up any more cameras or cell cams?

A Tactacam would be a game changer for you.

Tight income family at the moment so I’m stuck with just the one cell cam. Thankful I have that though. I’d like to get another one to cover both sides of the property but hopefully in time that will happen.

I would love to have a cam on the bow that would be great but just not realistic for me. Right now anyways.

    Hey man,

Tasco Camera's at walmart go for less than 35$ I believe, and they take pretty damn decent pics for the price. And if cell capabilities is a must you can pick up a spypoint cell link, sometimes on sale, but definitely 60$ or less! Just a thought, good luck and happy hunting that stud!
