Did anyone catch the first episode of the History Channels H&M mini-series last night? I watched it with the wife and we both thought it was pretty good, I guess we were thinking it might be a little more historically accurate. But it was still entertaining non the less. If you got a chance to watched it, what were your thoughts so far?
I missed the first 30 minutes, and went to bed before it ended, but I have it on DVR and intend to watch it. Looked good from what I saw.
I found it somewhat hard to follow at first also. Overall so far I thought it was good though. I'm excited to see what happens in the next episode tonight.
I don't know for a fact, but I would imagine they will re-air it. They usually do with mini-series like this.
They had a different form of justice, I like the Hatfield head of the family. He was a shrewd business man
I watched it and liked it a lot, will def be watching the next two episodes. Does anyone know where specifically it's innacurate? I know very little about the feud before the show other than the fact that there was one and lots of people died.
So far just the little details on when things happen and how, the dates of certain things, I don't want to say too much on here encase someone who hasn't seen it yet is reading this. But nothing major or totally made up for dramatic effect yet.
I watched it and liked it a lot. Seems to me that the Hatfields started the whole thing. That lawyer guy is shady....knew it from the start.
Me too. I also liked when McCoy told his wife at the fair that he'd buy her one of those stoves with "electrical-cicity".
Dang all of you and your fancy DVRs I missed it, but maybe I can catch the re-airing. I really need to invest in one.
I love the show. Just finished watching the first episode on demand (I have comcast.) They are re-airing the first episode tonight at 6pm Central. Then the second episode is from 8-10pm Central.
I liked it. Will be sacrificing sleep again tonight watch #2. You can watch the full episode of night 1 now online at history.com
Ahh. It was ok. I wish they had filmed it around here not overseas. The terrain in the show versus the real area is very different. They give the accent a shot, but unless you were born and raised in that area you can't pull it off. There is dispute over whether McCoy fought for the confederacy. Most of his family were confederate sympathizers, except for a few including the one who was killed which is accurate. And the pig is true, but it was just one of many reasons the families fought.
