My wife a daughter went out of town to her families reunion, I guess the first good part is that I had to work. But after work on friday, I went to scout some public land that I haven't hunted before. I walked for 3 straight hours and put out two cameras on some great trails. On my way back to the truck I came up on two coyotes, only the 2nd time I have seen a coyote in the wild. I also saw 8 deer in two fields and one piebald doe. I have never heard of anyone I know to ever see one, so I'm pumped. Even better, my wife passed her nursing board exam and will be starting her first job out of school on the 23rd. But I'm writing this thread in a house with no A/C and it's over 90 deg in Alabama. Hope this public land isn't covered up in hunters, but it is bow hunt only so shouldn't be too bad.
Well Congrats to the wife and hope you get the ac fixed soon. I hunt public land here in Va. The only problem I have is the idiots running dogs during gun season.
Yeah I used to hunt puplic in MO several years ago. Good hunting, but you have to deal with the idiots too. I'd have to aggree wtih gene hurt. I have had people rabbit hunting on puplic land during firearm season. Those beagle could be heard for miles. Myself along with several other hunters asked the guys to leave but they just said it's public hunting. Nothing like idiots to ruin a hunt.
