Mystery for they were picked up as strays in Alabama. Fostered 10 days down there then shipped up here and fostered 10 days before going to the shelter for viewing. So 20 plus days out of their 12 weeks were under shelter type care as in the fostering . 12 weeks and 21 & 23 #'s they are by no means fat. Alabama have a lot of Mnt cure AJ was a malinois, bully breed, cure, shepherd. I may get a test but I'm honestly not that curious. They've shown their personalities and intelligence already.

Well I can't see him picking one over the other. I knew this when he brought them home. I'm stepping back making him realize the work involved. They managed to take him out yesterday when I left him alone with them. I got a few calls when gone. Still in love with them already..
I'm also stepping back because they chose me the second we met, following my every step laying at my feet when doing dishes or dinner.

Day 3 and they are potty free in nite crate. They cry when they need to go. I was able to tip their nails and they barely looked at me at the snips. I then walked both to the coop. Walked together on my lef with barely a tug had. Got to the coop and released the birds. Toms in full display gobbling spitting, drumming ,roosters crowing chickens clucking. They backed up a bit spooked, then sat quietly just watching it all. Lucky finally decided to check out the bronze Tom. Slowly walked to him head and body down and submissive. Tom bolted and Lucky backed away to check out a turken chicken. They turned and left on my command. Zero aggression, puppy excitement, barking or whining. Just quiet curiosity. I am so impressed.
Mind you they were typical puppies at home when sons boxer greeted us outside in the yard. Jumping , chasing and barking playing with him.

So, I mentioned the difficult time hubby was having. This is why I agreed to the pups. This morning he was a tad loud for 5 a.m. and I hushed him a bit . He rebuked me with " I'm just happy!! " Then tonight, he tells me of how he was razzing one of the crew guys. Then the owner had stopped by and commented well you're chipper today.
I believe in my heart they are saving his life. He's finally sleeping all night.

I come in from taking sons dogs out every evening after he gets home from work. There he is sprawled out on the kitchen rug playing with pups. Mind you 68 and he's laying on the rug like a kid playing with the puppies.
If nothing else, they'll keep him limber...lol

    P.S
Son and DIL can't get back from their cruise soon enough. 4 dogs in bad weather 10 days . Hubby has taken to stopping at store for me, rarely does that, and offering to eat left overs because I look so tired when he gets home. I changed clothes 3 x's the other day due to getting soaked to my skin in storms. Yesterday was freezing in high winds snow and mid 20's. Not to mention one dog is a spaz that crys half the day. Whoooo, whoooo, whhhoooooooo non stop. The other has a chronic ear infection issue that will find every pile of s h i t e near the house to roll in. I'm tired of bathing then cleaning dog hair off everything every few days. Issues but actually nice dogs.
God has a sense of humor in timing. Making sure once it's just me and pups I'll truly appreciate them.....lol

We have had my son's dog for the last 3 weeks, I loaded the dog bed and stuff into the truck, dog was on to me I had to drag him to the truck. I don't think he wanted to go back to the city.

Yes, treasure those moments. Our daughter is 47 and son just turned 45. There will come a time when grandparents take third place in life. Our oldest grandson is graduating college this spring, married in October. Step-grandson, if there is such a thing, has our first great-grandchild.

Oh don't get me wrong, we take the kids at the drop of a hat zero hesitation will do it every time we get the opportunity. I always look forward to them visiting, it just takes a while to restore order in the aftermath. Keep in mind my kids mock me because all the canned goods in the pantry are label out and organized, we are empty nesters, no laundry in the basket no dirty dishes in the sink.

We are fortunate that our kids and grandkids live locally. Have friends whose kids and grandkids are scattered to the four winds including foreign countries.

A brutal cold morning that two potty training pups nearly refused to go out in, let alone potty in. So off to crates they went. Zero accidents and when the sun came later both, eventhough winds were bad, did their business and came in promptly.

Gee I get a delivery today and an inquiry about the dogs. Tried not to but burst into tears. Well didnt they just lose their dog 2 wks. ago as well. There we stood sad, remembering and I let them know we have two new pups. Which put a huge smile on their face. We're all just trying to navigate similar life issues...it's been a tough year for pet owners. But a great year for many rescues.
