Just got a like on this old post today. Shortly after that picture was taken Petey (the 1 year old white boxer) got diagnosed with cancer. Mastocytoma. She just had a surgery this past Wednesday for it.

I got her last December as a foster dog through Carolina boxer rescue but figured out pretty quick that id never be able to give her up so ended up adopting her myself. I knew white boxers had even more health issues than regular boxers but I would’ve never imagined that cancer at just over 1 years old was going to be a possibility.

So sorry man. It’s easier for them than it is for us. Remember that she cherished every moment with y’all just as much as y’all cherished every moment with her. We can’t make them live forever but we can make sure their short time on this earth is lived to the fullest and if you’re torn up about it then it’s a safe bet that you did right by her.

    Sorry for your loss.

They’re an awesome organization. Both of my current boxers are the result of failed attempts to foster through CBR. I’m not very good at the giving them up part of fostering.

I’m guessing y’all were some of the folks they were talking about in the message they sent out last week to say that all their volunteers and fosters in WNC had been accounted for.

The loss of a dog is gut wrenching. We went thru it almost 2 months ago. My wife has been devastated. She broke me down into getting a new puppy.

Dogs are proof there is a God and he loves us.

These 2 hysterical idiots are inseparable. They eat, play, sleep together nearly 100% of the time.

Poor miss pita she s starting to get dementia, she whines and barks at nothing. She needs to be soothed and likes to be held, this is very unlike her. She is not in pain, she gets outside and does move around well but she also has occasional messes in the house, that never happened before. Her chihuahua teeth are about gone and no matter what you do her breath is horrible, she also has the chihuahua restricted airway and the cough that goes with it. Damn dog has lived up to her name every single day of her life, but I love her.

So my grand dog, my son's dog that we watch pretty often is a smart dog. My son has him very disciplined, that's great but when he visits he is lake Larry, spoiled. He gets to sleep on any furniture he wants. He is not allowed on the furniture at home but he finds work arounds. Technically not on the couch tempImageLR3sO9.png
