Roscoe would not want you to go without a companion. I have a long list of dogs I could never replace from Great Danes to German Shepards and a beloved Lab that will never be replaced, but you can't quit open your heart again.
For sure…we can’t believe she is still going. I have owned a couple labs none of them have lasted this long. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh I don’t know. Wife does some work for the local human society and recent placed a dog with her folks. I may try to train it for recovering deer. It is a beagle lab mix. That might hold me over for a bit. I would like to have another lab trained for waterfowl. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
At the grocery store this morning the has a place for people to post ads saw one this morning for chocolate and black labs, SOB quit tempting me.
A man without a good dog is like having arthritis in your dominate hand... It hurts but, it's a extreme pain when you're use to having a hand full of fur ball to make you smile in your heart.
If anyone with land and money there is an AKC 1 1/2 yr old male dalmatian needing a home in Corning Ithica area ny Money for a must have special food. He had to have surgery for urinary tract stones. Previous owner fed human food he could not process. Was in training, raised with kids, GREAT with other dogs, trained on E collar. Great dog. He cannot be a "treats" dog He is a tad bigger than A.J. Update: Looks like we're in process of taking him
Sad day today for my mom. I had to bury her little pomeranian, Fiddlesworth, today. He was 15 yo. They thought he had a seizure and took him to our vet, who decided it was time. That vet has kept that little fella in good shape for years, but today was the end for him.
Pita the rat terrorist chihuahua is 15, Tug is 14 their pup Gerty is 10 going to be a sad next 5 years.
Sorry for your family's loss Ridge. Agree with Dave, cant get another Lab, been 4 yrs since putting Molson down. We now doggy sit 3 different dogs, just had my sons dog for 4 days, doesn't listen, loves to aggravate me, but does fill a little void of not having dog in house. Sota, look into the American Pointing Lab Association, they have breeders listed in Minn. All dogs are interduce to birds, guns. Can even get fully trained dogs if you don't have time to do yourself. Got Molson from Hunters Point Kennels. Wish I had the time and energy to do it again.
I will look into that after the current dogs are gone. I am a firm believer in if you are training and working with a dog that is your only dog. I also have to admit I am reluctant to get a pedigreed dog, have had my heart broke before on purebreds. I want a little mutt in a dog. I love a chocolate/chessy cross with a big block head, I also need a male dog I relate better to male dogs. That being said my wife will hate me for getting a retriever dang dog will not be dry from May till September. I will also admit I already have selected the name of the dog. I name hunting dogs after poor sports that hate losing. My prized Lab Robby was named after Roberto Alamar. Next dog will be named after Bobby Knight.
lost my absolutely best lab just over 2 years ago at 14 1/2 Said then NOPE NO MORE getting to old anyway ! 6 months of lonelyness and a big hole in my heart, I decided to look for a small rescue dog, Got a call from a rescue, the have a shy, timid, miniature Pincure ! She has come a long long way in 2 yearts, so no, not a relacement ! Just a new different buddy
Larry the grand dog is here for the weekend going to bring him "hunting" a walk on the WMA hyper hound going to let him follow his nose but no hunting. I will have the judge on me if he trees a coon. Dog needs to run thru the woods follow his nose and beller with his instincts, he was the runt of the litter out of a batch of bear hunting hounds.
