Sorry to hear, I cringe everytime I get home from work and mine's not at the door waiting. I swear he watches the security cam monitor and sees me pull in.

    Thanks again you all.
    Was a tough day today.
One of the worst times was waking up in the middle of the night to piss and not finding him with my feet for the wa
    k to the bathroom.

Have had to do that for 12 years..

Rest in Peace Damon, you gave me 15 plus years of attitude but I now wish you could give me 50 more. I'm going to miss everything about you, my best buddy. Give Ozzy a hug for me and roam free.

Geez, this is really so sad RIP little one, let those memories comfort you.
P.S. nothing wrong with those tears as you look through the pics...I have a good cry once a week when seeing Angel, George and his brother Dennis. ... Jade cat too....been a rough few years for way too many of us.

Hey LC, sorry I missed this and sorry for your loss also. The way you go above and beyond to take care of your dogs show alot how much you care for them. Never easy to lose one of the pack.

    Thanks Holt.

We picked up her ashes a few days ago. It’s the first time we’ve ever done this. Usually we bury them but I don’t see how we could have excavated a hole in this boulder-ridden ground big enough for her.

This will let us put her in a nice place close to us.

Damn....So sorry to hear pf the losses, @LittleChief , @bucksnbears , and @cls74 .....That just effing sucks. No words can ease the pain of losing our dogs that loved us unconditionally. I think that is what makes it so hard when we lose them, They don't care how many times we fart near them, what we wear, how much we suck at hunting, They love us for existing. We wish we could have them our whole lives, but, they get us for their whole lives. Keeping y'all in my thoughts and sending my deepest sympathy.

Thank you everyone, it means a lot to me.

I have avoided this thread ever since as I knew it would unleash a tidal wave of tears and I was right.

The small things are the hardest. Not letting him out when I take out or bring in the garbage, I totally lost it Sunday when I brought home food and he was not there demanding his cut. He hasn't been vocal for several years, but the house seems so much quieter.

Although it's been out there, I did find a perfect mirror ornament. When I seen it I knew I had the picture that inspired it, they just didn't know at the time.

I'll forever miss his unconditional love and that glisten in his eyes

    @bucksnbears and @cls74

sorry boys. Find and post more pics. Helped me a lot. I got to digging and found so many pics of my boy that I had completely forgot about on old phones. Especially from when he was young.

While I was doing that, I found a bunch of other pics from vacations, happy times, etc that didn't necessarily have anything to do with the dog. Ended up being several good trips down memory lanes.

They can keep giving even after they're gone.
