We are actually his 2nd owners. A elderly couple couldn’t care for him anymore. But I believe they got him in MN. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is our duck dog, who, unfortunately got diagnosed with hip dysplasia two years ago. He is one of the smartest dogs we owned and picked up on training so well. He has done a few hunts - but we really try and limit his tough running because he just doesn't know when to take it easy. This is the rabbit dog, I laugh because he is such a chunky Mamma's boy. He comes to work every day with me and has since he was eight weeks old (just turned 4 last month). This picture is actually current as he snoozes next to my office chair. He's great chasing rabbits and comes from a strong line of hunters. Our last two winters have been nonexistent so he hasn't been out much. But, the way his nose works the yard when he goes out potty - I'm thinking he'll pick right up where he left off. My third dog, is a chocolate lab. He moved out to my parents. My Mom got extremely sick last year and he was going down there every day. My Dad needed something to keep him busy and his mind a break from caring for my Mom. So, Rem has decided to make residency at his "second parents".
Kristen is that a Silver Lab? Beautiful dog, and your beagle will run rabbits till he can no long walk, never lose the skill and drive to hunt. Grew up hunting rabbits with beagles from the time I was able to keep up walking with my father, given a stick to beat brush, love and miss the sound of baying brace mates. I need to find someone who will allow me to tag along with them, havent hunt over beagles since the 70's, really miss it.
Jeff, he is a silver lab! Thank you! Unfortunately, I didn't research the "breeder" and just went on Craigslist and found him....but, he is great. Just wish he didn't have the bad hips. Seems beagle hunting is bigger in NY then it is around here. I personally don't hunt him - but my husband does. After having pet rabbits - I just cannot bring myself to do it. But, like you said, it's a natural instinct to the breed and he loves his job. Hoping to have have Frankie puppies in the future.
Old Man was right again. He can't here me start the truck anymore but he can here a squirrel. Here is his "I know he's here Dad, grab the .22" pose.
These two worthless chowhounds are supposed to be duck dogs. Both Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Goose and Cabela
Our female dog, Zeva and one of our cats, Grady. One minute they're chasing each other all over the house and fighting, the next they're best buds taking a nap. Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk
Damn, looking at these recent pics of roscoe makes me sad. He was once about as handsome as a lab could be. He he was at about 4. We were out calling coyotes.
BnB memories last a lifetime. Maybe its time to get a pup started training with Roscoe for the future...
BHH. I've thought about that many times but can't do it. I've had a lab since a young kid. They've all been good but Roscoe is so over the top exceptional that I "think" I'm ruined on another lab. Time will tell?
My beer got warm waiting to find this on in the swaying tree but Roscoe said " he's up there Dad". He was
