So I haven't been hunting in a while and went out tonight.Things started off slow and it was freezing. At last light a doe (or so I thought) comes in at 10 yards. I quickly grab my bow, drew back and released. the deer drops. I spined him, but quickly grabbed another arrow and sent one into the lungs. I'm probably going to get some negative replies from this, but I shot a button buck. Everything happened so fast that I didn't realize it was a buck. I'm happy there is going to be meat in the freezer. I set my goal to get some meat today and I got it. i don't know if I'm going to get another chance to go out, but if I do it will be for an antlered deer. Here are some cellphone pics i took as i didn't have a camera with me. here is one from the stand
No negative reply from me...you hadn't hunted in awhile, you shot and killed a deer with your bow, you endured the cold weather, and you had fun. What more can you ask for in a hunt? Congratulatioins and enjoy the overall experience.
Congrats! I would venture to say that there are plenty of us in here that thought we were shooting a doe and ended up with a button buck or even a buck that shed its antlers
Pssst... I've shot button bucks..... and I knew they were bb and I still shot. They're made out of meat just like any other deer. I will give you crap and say you need a better cell phone camera. Congrats!
congrats on your deer, it happens, my cousin shot a nubby this year in gun season thinking it was a doe
The funny thing is I always bring a camera and the one day I forget it I shoot a deer. The pics would have been better if there was some light.
