My bow hunting season came to a close with a fizzle tonight. Not a single deer sighted on the final hunt. And this a day after seeing 15 or 16 deer in the same food plot the night before. Thats how my season has gone this year. The deer win. :hail:

I sat in my ground blind overlooking the standing soy beans last night. I had a doe come in around 4:30 by herself and feed until dark 50 yards away when she was joined by 4 or 5 other does/fawns. In the mean time I kept peeking out the back of the blind to see if anything was coming from that direction. I saw at least 10 deer (all does and fawns I think) cross 100 yards or so behind me and pass within bow range of another stand I have hung. So I sat in that stand tonight and didn't see a single deer in the food plot before dark.

The morning hunts I sat right on top of fresh beds in the snow both days without having a deer come to bed there. I did see a few deer off in the woods Sat. morning and nothing this morning.

That's hunting for ya I guess. Congratulation's though on the deer you got earlier In the year and also the 1st time videoing you did. An accomplishment In Itself with that.

That's a tough season John. I feel your pain, this is the second year I've eaten my archery buck tags.

Any good ones you know that made it through?

Oh yeah, there will be a few good ones next season.

This nice 8 point should be there. Hopefully with both brows. Never seen in daylight.

This is an 11 pointer I have tons of pics of from late summer on. These are some of the few daylight pics of him. I saw him once that I know of at about 120 yards.

I'm not sure I recognize this buck, but I sure hope he sticks around. He looks like a stud!.

The Deer Gods were not happy with you this fall JM. This summer you have to put in some time at an animal shelter or something to help boost your hunting karma.

Take Raceway and Dan with you too. :D

Avoid the Animal Shelter, it does nothing to appease the animal gods as I know first hand:(

You could hear me singing all the way down there??

I did see 12 does file by this evening. At least some deer were nice enough to say goodbye until this October.
