My son had to write a paper on what he did over fall break, this is his story as he wrote it.I thought it was kinda cute.(he is only 11 and in the 6th grade) THE FALL BREAK SENSATION Fall break was amazing. I killed a buck and two doe. I will tell you about that now. My buck. I was sitting there as still as a rock. Birds were singing and squirrels were playing with their brothers and sisters. Then as soon as I turned my head, I saw it. It was a deer walking into the woods. I said, “deer, deer,” To my dad. He asked me, “where, where?” “At the bottom of the hill.” It was looking strait at us. I said as quick as I could, “ don’t move.” I was standing there with my bow in my hand in a late afternoon. I was saying to my self, “come on baby, come on.” My dad was filming the seen. As soon as he lost the deer on film, I shot. I turned around saying, “I got em, I got em.” When the deer fell down, my dad bent over and starting kissing me on the head. Then we had to wait for him to die, which was the longest thirty minutes of my life. I was as proud as I could be. My first buck and first bow kill. It was awesome. One Saturday afternoon, I thought I would take a little nap in the tree stand. Next thing I knew it was already five thirty. I was looking at the right side of the field and my dad was looking at the left. I thought I would go ahead and sleep the rest of the time in the stand. Then two deer walk out into the field. My dad is sitting there and just slapping me in the face. He didn’t know he was because he was facing the deer. They were so small and the beans were so tall that I couldn’t shoot one of them just yet. So we waited and waited and waited. Finally, one of them decides it is going to go back to the woods. I get my gun ready and before my dad can turn on the camera. POW! The deer falls and my dad is sitting there shaking because he doesn’t know what just happened. We get down and we hear something in the woods. We look over and there was the other deer. I had a good clean shot on her, but when I pulled the gun up. I lost her. I don’t know what happened to her or where she went, but I wish I could have gotten a shot off on her. That was an awesome deer. The next day I decide to go hunting in the morning because everybody else was going hunting in the morning. We got ready and headed on out. It was long, cold, hard, windy morning. My dad asked me to see if I wanted to get down and I said, “yaaaaaaaaaaaa, yes”. We got down and I was feeling warmer. I asked my dad to see if we could walk around the corner and see if there was anything in the field. We didn’t see anything so we headed back to the four-wheeler and back to camp. We got back that afternoon and I went ahead and went to sleep in the stand. As soon as I lifted my head, my dad saw some deer legs. He said, “deer,” and I looked over and saw her too. It walked and walked. It got out far enough to see our four-wheeler and when it did, it turned around and headed back to the woods. The deer got in an opening between the beans and the woods and stopped. I pulled my gun up and I couldn’t find her in the scope and when I did, I shot. She fell in her tracks with her legs spread out and as dead as she could be. Fall break was awesome killing those three deer. I want to do that again sometime. Dylan Fox 10/22/09
And the bad part is,it never happened like this,he took some writers liberties(I was slapping him on the leg).I got on to him and he just laughed.
That was crackin me up visualizing what really happened when he wrote my dad was slapping me in the face. :D
