i've worn it in the past (used eye black) and if you think face paint is hard to get off..... wow! now i just use a face mask.

gets a little snotty if i have a cold but i like it better. plus used to have long hair and would kinda keep everything together! scent blocker one works great. as it gets colder i have a hat/neck combo that i use

used to think i didnt need anything because of my skin color, but then sat in on a seminar by Art Helin and he said even darker skinned folks need to have at least something on their face to break up the outline. that along with the sun/light reflecting can be a dead giveaway to game.

First and foremost, to cover my pastey Irish face.
Secondly, it's now a ritual that gets me in the mindset.

I prefer face paint rather then a mask.

I'll have to see if I have a pic when I get home.

IDK, Fitz, I think you're better off with your pasty irish face when sitting in a birch tree.

I just grow out the beard for hunting season. Not a big fan of masks, and definitely not a fan of the clean up of paint

I wore masks until i got glasses. Really caused probs with fogging. I use carbomask paint now and really like it a lot. Comes off easy and doesnt feel greasy. Worth checking into if you use paint.

I wear face paint early season because I don't like the lightweight face masks. I think they restrict your vision too much, so I started with the HSS paint and enjoy it. Not sure if i'll keep it up once it gets cold though, I love my UA Cold Gear mask and its tight fitting so there's no vision impairment. We'll see about maybe just black under the eyes with the winter face mask though, its kind of habit now.

After wearing face paint in the military for these last 4+ years, I'm going to try and use a mask before i break out the war paint

On a side note (and I know i'm new here) but face paint is not a costume, its a camo tactic. in other words, darker paint is used to darken the lighter parts of your face (forehead, cheek bones, chin, ears) and lighter colors are for the darker parts of your face (eyes, edge of nose, etc).

Not trying to piss anyone off, just stating facts after seeing some of the pictures.

No face paint for me. I really don't need anything like that to pump me up for hunting. I wear a stretchy type of face mask which is comfortable and helps keep my head warm also. The last time I wore any kind of face paint was when my brothers and I played cowboys and indians. :)

maybe a few flecks and stripes here and there on the face to break up the lines is ok, but full on commando mode is a bit extreme for hunting. had enough of that method.

I use black carbomask. Easy to remove and the only way to go. Much better then the Halloween paint and HS crap I used to use.
