Definition - The select few men who bring forth the roots of our hunting existence by pasting their faces every morning and evening they enter the earth with the vibrant and/or dull colors of the natural foliage in which they are pursuing a living beast.

Notables include - Justin, Dubbya, jmbuckhunter and myself.

Now the question looms, do you partake? And if you do/don't, why not?

Do you Have advantages? Disadvantages? Better techniques?

For me it's like special game jerseys, it only comes out on special occasions. I mask it otherwise.

What mask do you use? I have NEVER felt comfortable hunting with something on my face. I feel like i might miss something.

Face paint puts you in the mindset that it's time to kill something. Play time is over when the paint comes out.

My father-in-law used to use the paint all the time. I never have. I used to wear some sort of face covering but like you said, it seemed to always get in the way. I never wear anything on my face now.

Yep, I do too. My only gripe is that the stuff I usually use, the HS stuff, you need a wire brush to get it off at the end of the day.

Agreed. My kids hate it when I come home. Although, they are older this year (season opener tomorrow) and they might understand more now that they have aged another year. They love when I come home with deer, rabbits, ducks, etc.

I can't stand wearing masks, only time I wear them is turkey hunting. I paint my face every once in a while.

I use a scentlok headcover, and it's cut enough so that you can't miss anything. I used to rock a gaiter, and I still would if I could find one that would suit me. I'm only trying to cover my neck and lower jaw.

I have always worn a face cover. Honestly never even thought about painting my face. Probably will now as long as the weather is warm. I'm a wuss when it comes to cold though so the face mask will come out for that.

I do it every other hunt, or whenenver I feel like it.

Kudos to the hunters who apply the proper amount and don't just smear it all across their face.

I had enough of face paint in the army. I have had the stuff on for weeks at a time. Ate with it on, shaved with it on, **** with it on, slept with it on and on and on. I hated the stuff. I wear masks when hunting.
