Hoping to get back in the woods this Sat. Was out in the yard today trying to stay deadly. Weather has finally cooled off this week and it's making me hate every minute I need to be inside for work.

Additional question: who is/how are/where are we tracking our team kills for points?

Hey everyone I have not had a chance to get out for deer yet. However, I did have success on my elk hunt last week. Took a great 6x6 in Alberta. I hope to get out in two weeks as this weekend will be too busy for me.

It was with a rifle. He stood in cover at 50 yards that was too thick for me to feel comfortable putting an arrow through it. I had the bow with me, but since I was not comfortable with the shot, I elected to use the gun. He was too good to miss out on, especially as my first elk.

Well looks like I will miss opening day! Unfortunately I am stuck at work on storm coverage for this nasty Nor' Easter we have going on!! Not fun! Hopefully I will be able to hunt Sunday morning! Good luck to all you guys in the woods!

Been sick with flu all week. Still not a 100% but the conditions couldn't be better for tagging a deer tonight so I'll be heading out in a few hours.

    Feel better dude!

It's cold and very rainy/wet in VA right now. So I'm going to stay in and finish up a table refinishing project

    Cheers to y'all out there

Nah not a carpenter by any means. Just fairly handy. This is a simple sand and stain type deal.

Don't push yourself to much. Don't want to end up in the hospital

I'm heading out in a few for the first sit of the year! Swirling winds so we will see what happens, you can't shoot em if you aren't in the woods!

    Any luck yesterday, cgersty?

I had a nice doe come in behind me on my right. Was ready to shoot when she entered my window at 24 yards. Went to draw and I was wrapped up in my tether.

Tried to flip it over my shoulder when she wasn't looking and she busted me. Oh well, that's bowhunting I guess.
