You've covered a bunch of ones I was going to add, early 90's was the best. Here are a few that seem to have been lost.
Although I'm not a fan of their political message... This makes me want to friggen break something!!! Just watch the crowds reaction INSANE! and no cell phones
RATM is awesome, was much better when I didn't know what politics were and the lyrics really had no meaning. Never was a huge STP fan, but I do like a few of them.
random thoughts as I read this thread: something I learned early on in college...if an attractive girl liked Tool, she REALLY liked tool, if you know what I mean. RATM was my favorite band ever until I got a clue. They proved that people can kick ass and suck ass at the same time. I was a huuuuuuuge Cube fan and I never knew there was a video for Today Was a Good Day Best thematic music video of all time was Sabotage granted, in 92 I was a sophomore in high school, but I would trade ever dollar I made that year delivering pizzas to go back in time to that Tool in Philly concert Adam Duritz is still a giant dooooosh Adam Jones (Tool) might be the most unhyped guitar gods of my generation to quote Stan from South Park: "Dude, what the F is wrong with German people!" this is by far the most tame Rammstein video/song...a lot of their stuff is NSFW and borderline snuff. But they can rock!
not sure how we made it this far w/0 NIN a little Cake some beaver and, introducing the next United States Senator from the Great State of Michigan, I give you....The BullGod Himself!
a suggestion to you 90s metal/rock fans, check out the Escape From LA soundtrack...several bands on it that at the time hardly anyone had heard of but later hit it big; including the already referenced Tool and one of my favorites; White Zombie and who would've believed these are the same band? 1996 1999 ________ and just cuz it's getting late, think I'll Disappear...
