After reading this whole thread, I have One question what does having a reality tv show have to do with the Duggars having 19 kids and overpopulation? I believe those are two Seperate Issues.

I now feel Dumber for reading some of your posts.

Bruce, GA, and PT thank you for your comments.

T, I think you're thinking about the couple who hosed people after giving birth to septuplets.

There are college classes that deal exclusively with the very real impact that the worlds population has on our planets limited resources. Yet, when a poster here tried to express his very sincere and real concerns about that topic, he was called an idiot and told his views were asinine and communist. I guess I figured if the topic was real enough to warrant credits in college, it was a legitimate enough view to discuss here in an intellectual maner. Unfortunately for him, others here were so passionate about allowing families to reproduce with no regard for future generations, he was blasted and bullied. I was most shocked about the origin of some of these posts.

Yes I agree. In fact I took many of those classes nearly 15-20 years ago, and there was a real problem, then. I imagine some two decades later that there is an even bigger issue surrounding the worlds population problems.

Would you, if you knew your great-grandchildren may not have clean drinking water? Serious question.

I know I would be willing to debate it without telling others that their views were asinine.

So debate it ... I don't believe all that college liberal paranoia (eg. Ozone, global warming, etc) .... so no, I wouldn't.... are you ready to? And if so, how many will you be OK withal a couple having?

I said IF you knew there was a very real potential for overpopulation to create horrible hardships on future generations, would you be in favor of any type of controls? You not believing in the issue of dwindling global resources is irrelevant to the question. I am saying for the sake of discussion, you understand that there is a very real chance that we may run short on resources. So, would you?

To answer your question, IF I KNEW that future generations may suffer due to lack of clean drinking water or other basic resources, then yes, I would consider it my moral and ethical obligation to allow them the same chance as I was given on this earth. If the ONLY way that could happen was by limiting the worlds population growth, then I would not hesitate for one second to support that concept.

Sorry Bro, I don't play on the playground of what I believe to be completely unreal .... I am going off of what you stated as truth ... if it every comes.down to the government legislating this, we will be a communist society ... like China ...

There are still people that dont believe in the Holocaust too.

    Others dont believe in God.

    What playground are they on?

You are limited to the speed you can drive on a public road, does that make you a communist? Or should we be allowed to drive as fast as we want, even in shoool zones? Perhaps stop signs are an infringement on our civil liberties?

You do realize that there are places in the Western Unites States that already have to ration water, right?

Again, what you believe is irrelevant to this question. What IS relevant is, what would you support if you KNEW your children may not have enough food or water in 50 years? Or, if their children were destined to suffer that fate in 100 years? Do you turn your back on them based on political views of today?
