The lady in Dan's video on the first page vs the Duggars. Both have a double digit numbers of children. Some don't want Gov't impeding the process, others say it needs to stop. Who makes that call?? Unfortunately, morality is not something that is easily legislated (see Congress, US).
I think some of it anymore is about the attention they get. Isn't this the family that posted photographs of their stillborn child? They enjoy the attention and are going for the fame.
To answer your question yes I do. Now answer mine. How is my having children germane to the discussion?
You have to justify that to yourself. But in this case when you decide to cash in on TV because of your reproductive choices you may find yourself exposed to criticism of those choices. If you didnt want to be exposed to any outside criticism then you should have kept you business to yourself, just like many of do.
I believe the Duggars have justified it to themselves. You are the one that said What did you mean then?
I have 4 .... they each got the attention needed ... I could easily have had more if the situation would have allowed it ... those kids seem very stable and loved ... so who are you to draw a line in the sand? How many kids do you have?
This is a totally un winnable debate for either side, because very little, to any is pure hard fact based. People feel the way they do, and neither is going to convert the other side. But I will ask one thing from the "if someone wants to have a dozen kids crowd it's ok" is that none of you EVER whine & complain that you lost a hunting spot to a housing plan or strip mall. I never want to hear you complain about traffic, pollution, starving people, rising costs of fuel & food prices.
Bruce, that was an answer to the gentleman that used the rational that there are people who dont take care of one child.. I think others care or lack there of shouldn't be a motivation for our own choices and decisions. Hope that puts is in context.
I am in the "if someone wants to have a dozen kids or no kids or one kid or two kids or... crowd it's ok" I am also in the "Don't ask someone else or the government to support however many kids you do decide to have crowd".
Now Bruce, that's just pure nonsense! Saying that people should live within their means? You know that is not politically correct, look at the government. If everyone lived within their means, the welfare rolls would be much smaller and there would be no deficit.
Glad to hear that you have had success, it seemed you made rational choices based on your "situation" which is the very point I been arguing. The line is your own to draw in regards to your family, and your own justification seems rational( reading the above quote). Now by the same logic dont demonize me if I dont see that rational for having 19 children, using the same logic you applied in your own choices. How many children I have is none of your business, and I am not on TV promoting and making money off it.
