There are many families in America that choose not to have any children; others opt for one or two children. To determine whether or not families that have their own football teams are a detriment to society, you have to determine what the population status was in the past, is now and what it will be 30 years from now. Then, by looking at the trend, you can make an educated decision. For many, it is a religious/cultural issue and any dialogue with them about stemming their birth rates would probably be detrimental to your health.
For the record, I would have loved to have more children .... but the way things played out, it wasn't meant to be
For you guys asking about Population control, are you ready to give up you F250's and go back to horse and buggy and go without electricity and start living like little house on the Prairie. If you are not then you really don't care about the enviroment or the population problem as it is. The real answer in my opinion is to start taking care of what we have and stop wasting it. a family 0f 4 doesn't need a 3000 sq ft house to live but that is what we have in our country, if you really want to start saving resources and the future generations there is alot more answers before we say stop having x amount of kids.
eh...this really is not relevant. We are not discussing resources such as oil and gas that provide us with technology. We are discussing basic resources, such as food and water. When the world becomes over populated, nobody will care about oil based products. It will all be about who has food, and who has water. This isn't going to happen anytime soon though, and by then we might have found a new way to produce food, and we might have made desalinization economical. So this all might be mute, but it's fun to debate.
Can't you now poop and reuse it a fuel for heating your home now? Sounds like.a.crappy way to keep warm ... :D
Wrong Tony. NEVER did I say I would legislate birth control......you need to get your facts straight. I only feel that it would need to be addressed through education. You see, some people dont understand what the ramifications of overpopulation are. Others refuse to believe it is possible at all. They simply need to be educated as to the consequences. I trust that most would make the right decision once they know the facts.
Do I believe we should regulate how many kids one should have? No. Do I believe there should be a stigma in society that makes people think about how many kids they have? Yes.
From your posts on this subject, I don't expect you to. And, I'm not going to get in an argument with you about it either. I can see that others have tried to debate this with you, like you wanted, but you refuse to debate it.
