Well in my year or so of being on this site there is only one thing I wish was different, I wish we had an area for DIY projects. Im a huge DIY'er and love to design and build my own gear, even if it costs twice as much:D

I'm kind of testing the waters here to see what kind of feedback we can get. So post any and all of your DIY projects here. It can be as simple as fletching an arrow all the way to building a press. Or even throw out some ideas, i'm always looking to try something new.

I made a bow hoist rope system. I always had trouble keeping my hoist rope from knotting; until now. :ninja: It's quick fast and easy to use and fits in your backpack so you don't need a separate hoist rope for each stand.

Basically I purchased two clevis hooks. I tied a snap type connector on each end and wrap the rope between the clevises. The connector works great so you can connect the rope to a belt loop.

Here is what it looked like when done.

Here is how you start wrapping the rope.

Good ideas guys! My pull rope has so many knots in it, lol. Bushnlo I love those grips. I wanted to do some custom ones for my bow, but the B.E.S.T grip..well, not so nice to do custom stuff with. keep em comin, i'll probably start a project soon, have a few things to build:

    Paper Tuner
    Arrow Saw
    Bow Press
    Vice
New quiver mount, to convert mine to a tightspot-ish thing:moose:
    Custom stab
    Possible sliding sight bar

Yeah I really like the stuff on AT's site. I'm going to start my quiver bracket first. Volunteering at a womens shelter today putting up a fence so it will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon.

I will also be attempting something I thought of a while back and finally saw executed over at AT, but thats a surprise to come;)

I have been doing taxidermy for a few years with my freind in his shop, and useing all of his equipment. Yesterday I had alot of down time at work and finally made my shoulder mount stand. It has fully machined pivot points, completely tig welded, and can be taken down very easily when not in use. Today I made a smaller manican flange for small game and fish. Im a fabricator, welder and machinist when I'm making a living. Saved myself a few hunder bucks and its built for my work area and will never break at least not at the welds!:D

    Heres my Poor Man's TightSpot:ninja:

I didn't get any pictures of the process but it's really very simple. Took me about 10 minutes. Basically the goal was to get my one piece quiver in tighter to the bow and closer to center shot.

I used one small truss plate and basically bent it until I reached my desired shape. Not much to it:nana:

Because it isn't "cosmetically correct" to the real deal I had to spice it up with a BH.com Sticker:rock:

In all I brought the quiver in about 1 1/2", but could come in tighter. Have not shot it yet because of the rain, but I will tomorrow hopefully. Next step is too cut off excess metal and paint. Time for my next project!

Best money I've ever spent right here. I attach it to my climber and climb up and then I pull up the bow. I'll never fool with a rope again.

    Here's my latest finished project

    Offset Bow Stalking Pods

I've always wanted to try making these then I saw then done on AT.

    Detail Shot:

Bow on it's side in "stalk" mode. Pods keep cams and strings out of the dirt and sticks
    [IMG]

Final shot, out of focus but you can see the general outline and fit.

Bow is actually quiter now and the pod's also help offset the pull of the quiver. Bow is now absolutely dead in the head.
