We just got back to the house and showered. We only saw two other bucks (4x4 and 3x3) but were never able to get close on them.

 

That's too bad. I shot well this morning but finally shot broadheads with the new arrows and drop away rest. The broadheads hit the rest so it seems like they cut them too short.

It doesn't look like I'll get out next weekend, which is kind of a relief and a bummer at the same time. It's a relief because I've been hunting hard and been given 3 or 4 chances, and still sit here with an unfilled tag. It's a bummer because I only have two weeks left in the season.

 

Then when does it start back up?

Yeah. I've got to choose which weekend to hunt. I've got a pile of things that need to be done before we go out of town in a couple of weeks, and I think taking the break will be a good thing. I've found myself doubting my skills and abilities after seeing a lot of deer and not putting one down yet.

 

I wouldn't worry about it Tim. You're dealing with a ton of land and aren't using a rifle.

Thanks Tony. It's usually that "heat of the moment" doubt. Once I get out and can clear my head, I usually calm down. And it is a LOT of land.

 

Well when you get a few bow kills under your belt you'll feel better I think. Either way you're out there and getting after it and that's what matters.

That's what I tell myself. Every hunt, I'm getting better. I really underestimated how much luck it really takes.

 

We're officially the dirt nap delivery system. I'll wait a bit longer on bryce as other teams still need members to check in. Tim if you want to logo us up, that would be great.
