I have been wanting to get out and shoot more coyotes this year after shooting that one during gun deer season. Back in highschool and college I would go all the time on our breaks and what not and I have a fox pro spitfire and a ton of really nice hand calls for it. I just need to find the time to do it again. Any free time I have generally gets used up for ice fishing. When we have ice!!!...Grrr.

My dad got me a dozen Maxima Red arrows for Xmas. I'm going to have my work cut out for me getting my bow ready for league when I get them.

Nate did you bait them or just call and shoot?

Unfortunately in Wisconsin we can't bait them otherwise I would make so many bacon grease meat blood Popsicles and put them out in different woods and have a blast picking them off one by one.

I use calls for the most part but I often go with the guys around here that run dogs over them and that's pretty fun to watch and take part of as well.

I'll keep that recipe in mind. I didn't see anything in the laws I read yesterday about illegal to bait in Maryland.

Just got climbed up. It's 66 degrees with rain on its way around 6pm. I'm 15 yards in bordering a field edge.

Good luck sir! Sound like it has potential to be a productive night for ya.

We have a messy mix of precip coming down right now which will make for a sloppy night of chores on the farm for me.

It's my 4th doe so doesn't really matter for the contest. My stepfather injured his rotator cuff and my parents still want meat for the winter.

    Well good shooting anyways.

Anybody keeping a close eye to how we are doing in the contest? It hasn't been updated in forever

I haven't really looked at the scorecard since it was last updated.

I just moved my stand and cam to a different area. I plan to hunt Saturday morning when it will finally be in the 20s with a high of 40. My camera was only seeing bucks at night or the few cold mornings that we've had.

We got him from a guy in eldorado Wisconsin. Our friend got one of his litter mates and these two dogs have such a good demeanor. They are loyal and ours hasn't caused us any issues. Crate trained well, potty trained well, never chews on anything and doesnt bark. The only thing we have had to watch him on is getting in the garbage and the cat litter box. He is great with our kid.

He's a good hunter too he still young yet but he pretty much does what I want him to do. He isn't up to the hunt test dog standards though but I don't care that he is.

Shorthairs can be weird though. My inlaws have one and he is a big trouble maker. A lot of it I feel is how much you work them and get them excercise ImageUploadedByTapatalk1450398628.959487.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1450398639.656718.jpg

We were really lucky with ours too, she was so gentle and listened really well. I know it helped that my wife was home all the time and set very good rules. It's driving me crazy not having a dog to come meet me when I get home. I love the colors on your dog too, I guess we are kinda picky in that aspect as well.

Yeah I work from home so I feel that helps ours as well. Definitely knows who his master is. We were very picky about color as well. I like them to have a lot of ticking. The inlaws is all white with a brown face and I think it just looks goofy. It is a monster though.

I grew up with labs and really want to get one but the wife who also grew up with labs is tired of them. That is why we got a gsp. We had money down on a gwp in superior wi but we got shortlisted when there wasn't enough males thrown in the litter. I'd like to get an English or Gordon setter next.

I have 120 more pheasants that I need to use up or sell this year. Should be fun lol

Based on quick gloss over, of top 3 teams, 2 have entered deer after update. One being Dubbya's buck and another team had a doe. So we are still in the lead.

I'd still like to shoot a doe late season, but I can't find time lately to get in the woods. I'm off work from Christmas Eve until after New year's so maybe in the time I'll find my way out there.

Just checked my cam. There's an awfully big bodied 4 point that went down the trail both mornings right before sunrise. It will be interesting if I have a shot whether or not I can pass on him.
