Anyone getting out for some after Turkey deer hunting?

 

Tim I may go tomorrow. Downside is this warm spell we are in and the moon. Saturday night we get rain and a cold front so I just can't see them moving beforehand in the afternoon.

I haven't ever really paid attention to the weather and deer movement.

 

Just finished marinating 5 lbs of jerky. Hopefully I don't screw it up

 

Jerky is in the smoker now. Now just waiting it out. I have three different flavors, peppered, "smoked" and one with brown sugar.

Jerky is done, the boys are running around, football is on, and great friends coming over for pizza later. Talk about a good day

 

Sounds good. It was a nice long weekend and break from everything. I plan to go out Tuesday.

 

Yes it was. After two weeks with at least one 15+ hour shift (including 19 on Wednesday night), it was nice to have a break.

 

Snow is coming for me tomorrow, I'm gonna have to drive in that nasty snowstorm in South Dakota and southern mn. Looking for 6-12 inches, fun times.

Caught up on all your success stories over the weekend. Congrats out to all!!!

I only had 1 week devoted to hunting this year and not 1 good buck even sighted. Hunted Siloam Springs State Park in Brown County and with 3 years of EHD, herd was hit hard. Seen 5 does in 6 days of hard hunting that's it. Hunting partner seen 1,8 pointer in those 7 days. I'll still try to get us some points on the board but most of my free time is focused on 20 acres just purchased in Franklin County, IL below Rend Lake. Just got done building 2 ponds and starting on cabin Wednesday. Plenty of deer sign on property if I have any free time I'll do my best to get some additional points and a little meat for the freezer.

It poured down rain on Tuesday. My gear is all packed up to work a half day then hunt tomorrow. Excited to get this late season going
