Yes Frosty I think you'll be fine. Are you in a fixed stand or climber?

Well here's the story I had a nicer buck come by early this morning. Not real sure how many points as he was in an out of a popple thicket as he was coming in. I was more worried about finding a shooting window. I drew and was waiting for the buck to come cruising in the window and I think I may have rushed the shot and I heard the arrow hit something on the way to the deer the arrow ended up going underneath of him.

About an hour later I saw big bodied deer going through our other food plot which is about 100 yards from me. I started putting my binoculars on them and it was a doe and fawn going through the area. When they were leaving I saw out of the corner of my eye another deer going through the popple thicket. I started grunting but nothing came in. I grunted like 10 mins later and nothing happened for about 10 mins when this little three pointer came out of the popple thicket. Found my lane drew back and made what I thought was a 30 yard shot on the deer but it was more like 25. I hit him a little high and quickly made a second shot to finish him off.

It was an expensive morning for me with three FMJs and kill zones but it was a fun morning. Empty quiver and all! Haha

Not exactly what I hoped for at the beginning of the season. But tomorrow is pretty much my last day to really hunt before the orange army screws everything up. I generally don't late season hunt much. My wife has been on me to get a deer to because we are out of venison so made her happy :)

I will be trying to get a doe now.

Nice story Nate. Early November sure is nice. I've got another arrow nocked. My bonus buck tag is now ready to go.

Then all I'd do is move over a few trees depending on wind and go a few feet higher. But it is the rut and he's liable to walk around anywhere.

He came back just at last light last night and freshened a few scrapes just outta range so this morn I'm sitting closer to where he came out. Got to witness him chasing off a forkhorn was cool he gave a big ol' grunt and the fork lowered his head and slinked off

I just shot a nice buck! Hit him high so he fell in his tracks at 20 yards. Follow up shot put him out. I'll post a pic here in a few minutes.
