Other than the 130 inch 8 point and his 2 buddies and a bunch of does hanging out across from the golf course all afternoon, that's kinda frustrating.

Frogtosser sorry to hear about your dog.. Its hard having to do that I have been in your situation before so I can understand how you're feeling. Just think of the good times you guys had together and rember she is in a better place where there is no pain. But on a better not way to go on the doe! Perfect shot on her! Congrats!

I have been trying to get out as much as I can but school and the wind not cooperating has me a little bummed. I recently move a can over to a licking branch and got some great videos of some bucks tearing it up! We are going to get a cold snap of about a 22 degree drop tonight from a 75 degree high to a high of 53 tomorrow so tomorrow morning before school I will be out hoping to see something. Best of luck everyone! Will update when I can. Sorry I haven't participated in any point scoring either just haven't seen one that tickled my fancy yet. And the does numbers are super low by me so I can't really shoot them.

This is the 2nd year watching this boy develop and he is just a amazing buck. He is just so unique. I only see him once in a blue moon now but he still stops by every once in awhile. He was a daily visitor 7am and 7pm up until September 20th and season opener Was the 26th.

He is a nice buck. I had all intentions to hunt this afternoon but things got heated last night with my girlfriend. I figure I'll do the right thing and smooth things over afterwork rather than not getting home until late. Thursday looks good.

All set up in a tree. The wind made me avoid the area I wanted to hunt Monday. The spot I'm in now leads to a field deer like to head to before dusk.

Thanks! We had a fantastic wedding couldn't have really asked for more. I'm excited to be able to focus my energy on bow hunting now. There is a cold front coming in for the weekend so I hope the deer are on the move.

So as it turns out, where I climbed up today had several Oaks around it dropping some serious acorns. At about 415 a button buck came in to feed then bedded down. At 530 in come 7 does/fawns and a small spike. The acorns had me surrounded 3/4 of the way so with that many deer 15 yards away they felt something was wrong. They got out of there but didn't snort me. Last light they came back and when I could have shot 2 of them, I couldn't guarantee it wasn't the spike buck so I waited until I could safely climb down.


Long story short I mis-scouted the spot and would have sat further back and a good bit higher to handle that many deer coming in to feed. When they're traversing between bedding and food I usually don't climb higher than 20 feet. Just to take advantage of their usually relaxed feel and better shot angle.

Sounds like a decent night. I've been super busy with work. I did get a phone call and I'll go back down to NM for my interview round of the selection process in the middle of November.
