I was driving through Nebraska when my fuel pump took a dump, so here I sit in the middle of nowhere. So no, and no elk either. I did see about a 150 inch mule deer in Colorado but no tag.

Hey everybody, hope all's going well on the other side of the internet! Been super busy with college but still practice 4 days a week. Just switched broadheads before the opener on Saturday due to my DRT's not flying good unfortunately. I did however get some Ram cats and I think I may have just found my new go to! Fly great at 60 and should leave a great sound channel. We are going to have a east wind opening day here in Ohio and I am more than estatic about that because that means I can hunt my food plot!! Deer always enter from the West, North, and East so this wind is idea since I'm on the south side side of the plot and the wind will be blowing directly in my face. Good luck everyone and I will hopefully be checking in more when I get some time to sit in the stand!

Sounds like you've got a good plan for Saturday. Hopefully it ends successfully, whatever your definition of success are!

Definition of success is seeing deer with my own eyes consuming the soybeans, turnips, clover, and wheat that I planted. Seeing deer interact without being on alert, just acting as natural as ever. Seeing a flock of turkeys come into the plot and meander around picking away, seeing squirrels run around the oak flats, just witnessing everything in natural harmony slowly develop and know that I helped make a different to this parcel of land to help provide these animals with the nutrients they need to continue to grow. But it would be nice to shoot a deer but it isn't at the top of my list as much.

Well put. My definition of success it's improving on every hunt, from finding sign, to spotting deer, to sneaking in on them. The harvest is the ultimate goal, but not my definition of success.

I went to kill some spiders for my sister in law, but first, I had to give a rabbit a dirt nap.

Good luck anyone going out today for the first time. Today's Ohio's opener and I'm pretty excited to finally get out there again.

I had a nice 6 come past about 60 yards out at 4pm, bed down hardly out of sight for an hour, then come back in shooting range. Wasn't quite what I wa looking for but next year he will be a big boy. Then at 615 the "doe train" came through. I was ready to draw on the first doe but she slowed down and then I had all 5 and a fawn in sight and I'd have been busted for sure. Still a good hunt and with the nice wind I had the deer are none the wiser I was there.

Next weekend is when I hope to draw blood, I will be in Illinois for 5 days hunting opening week there. I wasn't able to chase any deer yet here because we have a foreign exchange student and had an orientation all day. Can't wait to actually sit in a stand, next 2 weekends are gonna be eventful hopefully.
