Just raked up a mock scrape, peed in it, and setup the tinks dripper with a camera on it. This is about a quarter mile from where I sat last Friday. But 50 yards from where I shot a 10 point last year

Honestly it's my first time trying it this early. There's been alot of talk about no harm in getting one going. Also it is at the bottom of an oak ridge that started dropping acorns. I'm hoping I can see a buck checking it even if it's at night because my other camera locations haven't had any more bucks lately.

You'll have to let us know how the mock scrape works.

I set up a mock scrape about 2 weeks ago myself. I don't have a camera up on it yet but will try to this weekend. I've read a lot of things lately touting the effectiveness of starting mock scrapes around this time. Time will tell.

I'm not as its still going to be mid 80s and all sun. There's a front coming in on Sunday evening but I can't legally hunt here. I may sneak in and check my cam over the scrape Sunday morning and decide where to sit on Monday afternoon.

I'm gonna try to get in a morning hunt on my old stand and an evening in my new stand this weekend, just don't know which days. Depends on the weather.

Sounds good. Not being able to hunt Sundays is a pain in my butt.

Yeah I only chose Oct 10 because it's the youth hunt around here. I'm hoping to take some time off in November to hit the bow hunting hard. Looks to be a new moon November 12. So I will likely take some time off then or around the weekend before that.

I just bought a pair of Cabelas 16" pull on snake boots. 100$. Water proof. They are super comfortable and give me the piece of mind that I won't get hurt stepping on a rattler or cooperhead during warm bow season. I use Irish setters for winter hunting. Just my .02¢

We spent most of the time hunting the mosquitoes that were relentlessly eating us alive. I ended up with about 30 good itchy bites ....sigh

Update from the stand...I've seen 5 does. Apparently native browse tastes better than my food plot. Had two does working my way but cut across corner of plot to eat some juicy berries. 1 hour left...
