Are these clowns for real? There 5-0, and looking pretty good on paper. That pass rush, NASTY. Calvin Johnson....nastier. But watching them, they dont scare me much. I think the Packers, Patriots, Saints, Ravens would steamroll these guys. Stafford doesnt impress me at all, and Jahvid Best had only his FIRST 100 yard game of his career last night. The secondary looks like it has some major holes as well. I really hope they stay unbeaten until Thanksgiving though, that Packers-Lions game could be the biggest ever. Although they're 5-0, they don't impress me much either. They've had to come back from some large deficits in the majority of their games in order to win. Not the sign of a great team. If someone can manage to find a way to shut down Johnson, they've got little to fall back on. Pettigrew is decent, but not great. Their rushing game is pretty much non-existant despite Best's 80-some yard dash last night. They are very one-dimensional on offense. On the defensive side of the ball they're great up front, much not much going on behind that. They've given up a lot of points so far this year which again, isn't the sign of a great team. Good, but not great. To go up against some of the league's elite teams and come away with a W come the playoffs they've got a ways to go yet. If they can shore up the secondary a bit, and figure out a running game they're going to be scary.
2/5 is not majority, but having two huge comebacks is not terrible. It shows character. If say, the Patriots, had two similar comebacks people would be talking about how awesome they are. No, I'm not saying the Lions are the Patritos, just typin'... Burleson, Sheppler, and Young are all decent, and one of the reasons Johnson sees 1-on-1 coverage. Yup, not a great rushing team. Some other pass first teams are doing okay too. Patriots, Saints, Packers... There are not an elite team, but they are good. Most importantly, they are WAY improved. Haters gonna hate...
I will say Cutler throws off his back foot and on the run really well, he does get a lot of practice though
they beat our butts! hats off to em' rematch in a few weeks! funny things happen when you keep winning (5-0, old moe, whatever you wanna call it)... folks start believing again and teams can be difficult to beat!
Yeah if he doesn't scramble and throw off his back foot so good, that game is nowhere as close. Also the lions are going to have to get the penalties under control.....I think #79 (can't think of name DE) was the bears leading rusher in the first have with all of his penalties. I'll continue to pull for them, not as my top team but I will pull for them. Plus Stafford might not be the premier QB, but I like him cause he went to UGA.
I'm not hatin' - just observing. I'm a big Stafford fan. I think the kid has a lot of talent and am glad to see him doing well. Same with Johnson - the guy is a beast. To go from 0-16 to a 5-0 start in 3 years is very impessive. Credit given where it's due. There's no doubting they're a good team, but let's face facts - they haven't "done" anything of substance yet. Let's see how they fair later into the season and the post season before we crown them kings of the NFL.
If you want to crown them, then crown their ass! P.S. they are who Dallas thought they were, and they let em off the hook
Right on isaiah, right on!! I don't think their there yet but wow what an Improvement from 2 years ago. The Vikes should've beat them but allowed them back In the game. Actually the Vikes should've won 3 games so far If not more. Good luck Detroit fans, been along time coming for you guys and this team.
Yeah, I know. They are a big story in the NFL right now. It doesn't mean they are an elite team, and I could understand if people are sick of hearing about them. They have to play some good teams yet this season and we'll learn more about them. I'm still in a stage of disbelief with the Lions. Kind of like Jackson getting three hits last night without striking out once. Did that really happen?
There are better teams out there, that is for sure. But 5 - 0 is no joke, they are definatly the real deal this year, a threat to many teams.
