I had to head back early last night, after the evening hunt I got back to my trailer and there was a strong propane smell in it. I didn't trust spending the night there so I packed up and headed home. I think my furnace may have a leak.

I might head back to hunt this evening tho. We got about 2 inches of snow and I found a good trail leading to my food plot. I set up about 70 yards off of it and about 15 yards downwind of the trail. Well the deer decided to make a new trail 50 yards farther up wind. 7 does came strolling by headed to the plot at about 4:00. One of them eventually started feeding on browse my direction. She was headed straight for my tree. She got to 15 yards straight on and looked up at me, I was frozen still 18 feet up in Predator Camo, but she got spooky anyhow. She turned and bounded back 30 or so yards and turned and stared for 5 minutes then just walked off.

Later I saw a good buck walking through the woods about 100 yards away. I tried to grunt him closer, but he acted like he never heard me. Then I saw 3 more deer moving through a good ways off, not sure what they were.

That's the most action I've seen in a while, so I may have to get back out there tonight.

Bummer on the propane smell... I know what an incredible convenience that is for you being able to spend the night on your property!

Sounds like they may be on the move again for their late-season feeding patterns... best of luck buddy!

Well, I guess I'm glad I didn't make it down there this weekend. You'd be blaming me. :D

Light a match around the furnance to figure out where the leak is. ;) (no don't do that, I like you)

I was listening to the wind howl here and was wondering how much propane you go through in a weekend.

    John,

I don't know how big your camper is, but a quick/easy fix that wouldn't be too expensive...........

Before I sold my cabin I heated the entire thing with one of those Mr. Heater Big Buddy heaters. It would keep my 10x16 cabin heated well enough to stay there in single digit temps, probably colder.........and my camp was insulated only so-so. You can pick them up for around $100 or so at Wal-Mart or ****'s Sporting Goods, and buy the hose adapter to run them off a 20lb BBQ grill tank. I used to get 5-6 night of running it full blast off a single tank. Could hold you over for a pretty good period of time to help you get more weekends in there. If I lived closer I'd let you use mine.....it's sitting in storage right now. That thing will put out 19,000 BTU when it's running flat out.
