I planted a nice food plot of brassicas in summer of 2009. They came in great that fall plenty of time ahead of the first frost. Well fall and winter set in and they did not touch them at all. I was very surprised. So they lived and stayed nice and green all the way till right now. We have had several good frost's this year already and still they have not touched them. Has anyone else had the same encounters as me? I'm thinking of mowing them down this coming spring if nothing changes and planting something else. I'm just venting a little here to because I put a lot of time and effort into the plot. It's pretty frustrating to look at everytime I go hunting.

What brand and variety did you plant?

Whitetail Institute's Imperial wintergreens. I applied proper lime and fertilzer and like I said they came in really good. I just dont get it. The deer will not touch them and there are heavy trails all around the area.

The plot is in the middle of a woods clearing. There are lots of acorns around. All of the surrounding crops have been harvested for the year. It just surprised me that last winter they did not touch them. They were green and tall all winter and they just walked around them.
