First day of season for me, setup between some bedding along a creek and bedding in a pine plantation. Nice to be out. It's buck only for me for the first bit of season.

Thanks! Me too lol.... I hope we get a cold front in early October this year. If that happens I like my chances hunting over some oaks at the edge of a corn field near that camera. I saw several nice sized trees that were freshly rubbed when I pulled those cards too

Well I've been getting humbled so far this season, Ive sat 3 times this past week in pretty good spots and have zero deer sightings. :bash: I hope this weekend turns things around.

Saw elk at elk camp and had a play at a 4x4, 40-50 yds from me for probably 10 minutes but I had no shot (he was feeding facing me and we had trees between us I was trying to get one of us clear of) wind shifted and the game was over.

Flying home today...work this week and hopefully back in the NC woods next Saturday.

Elk camp was an absolute blast!

Elk hunting is awesome, glad you had a good time.

Another deer less sit for me last night. I setup on a target bucks bed, below is one of his rubs from last season. Although he didn't show I did cut his track on the way out so he's there.

Teaching hunters safety this weekend...no stand time for me yet, but still alot of leaves on the trees yet. Alot of bugs yet too....might have to take a day off this weekend for a sit before I go crazy from not being able to sit in the stand!!

Man I pulled Trail camera pics & 1 pic of a little scrubby buck & all the rest of the pics are slick heads, yearlings, Thunder chickens & yotes! Walked to the field I intend to gun hunt & may have to reconsider after seeing 3 slick heads with an 8 point buck 30 yards from the road & a tree racked up from some BIG boy!
