Thanks for the kind words guys. I posted this thread with the story a couple years ago and didn't think it would come back up again, until a couple guys asked about me being shot in the death thread.

Since I posted this, life has been great. I rarely even think about it anymore, since it happened over 11 years ago. At the time when I was having nightmares and going through rough times, I could only think about how what people like Davidmil have seen have affected them. In reality, my experience was a big deal to me, but small compared to what others have gone through.

Again, thanks for the kind words guys!

I've seen the emotion in your face when you told me in person, I cant imagine writing it. There are a lot of people that are happy this story ended the way it has, your family first and friends second. You've become one of my best friends over the past couple years and I'm thankful for that. Props, to the write Dan-O.

Thanks for sharing this, It's amazing how after all of that you keep hunting.

Excuse me as I run to cabelas for a head to toe orange suit.

Very moving account! I'm glad to hear you found closure to such a tragic incident. I give you all the respect in the world for having the courage to get back in the woods and pursue a passion of yours.
