Should there be no work (as in holiday)? To me it merits a day off more than a LOT of the "holidays" that there is no work/school. It's a tradition across the whole US. I dont' know what percentage of homes watch the game, but I'm going to guess extremely high. A lot of parents and kids staying up late to see the game. A lot of beer and food. Gatherings and parties. Sure seems it has a holiday type feeling to me. I wouldn't have a problem with having no school or work on monday. Matter of fact aside from the major holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, and 4th of July) I think the day after the Super Bowl would warrant a day off more than any other day off / holiday I can think of. What do you think?

There should also be a day off for every world series game, nba finals game, last round of the masters and more. Why limit it to just football?

The super bowl ain't THAT big a deal, nor should it ever be to warrant a national holiday.

That's why the Super Bowl should be on Saturdays.

If you can't handle getting up the next morning for work, your either a Sally or you get a little "too" into the game...

Either way, suck it up, no Holiday for you!

7 game series and 4 rounds of golf. Not possible. This is a single game and I would think the most watched "celebrated" so to speak of any sports event across the country.

Can't remember the last time I missed a day of work or slept past 5:00am in the last 15 years. Nothing to do with sucking up. I'll be up by 5 again tommorow just like today and the next day.

I'm just saying at least there would be a logical reason for people having a day off. How do you celebrate Columbus Day or Flag Day to name a couple? Doesn't it seem like ... why is this a day off? I should be working.

p.s. none of this really pertains to me personally. I don't even recognize weekends as weekends. Just another day to me. They all run together including holidays (except christmas and 4th of july) More of a general observation.

    No.

It's a football game. People know they have work the next day, and, if they decide to consume large amounts of alcohol, and stay up late, it's their problem. No reason to make it a Holiday; it's a freaking game.

I'm in Arlington and the U.A.W. shut our plant down for tomorrow. Doesn't matter as I'm salary. I will go in and do some paint defect searching. Doesn't matter to me. I think it's funnier when they couldn't come to work with 2" of snow on the ground.

Like someone else said, if you party too much, thats your fault !

I will say one thing tho, I went to the grocery store just to pick up a few items on Sunday Morning and I have never seen that store so crowded in all my life ! It was crazy !

Today might as well be a holiday, because it's not like I'm going to do any actual work today.
