:D:D He's done! Now I just need to get him home. I think our owner can pick him up and bring him here this weekend... I'm one happy camper!
is his antlers made out of milk chocolate or dark ? thats one beautiful animal sure glad you didnt just keep his antlers.
Those are really dark antlers. Great mount! I really like them side mounts! I had my 10 pointer done that way too. Here he is!
Beautiful Northwoods buck, and a great mount. Congrats! I was up in Trego two weeks ago and as I drove past the Prime I thought about you. :D
That buck is gorgeous, and for many reasons that buck may be considered a trophy of a lifetime for many people.
Looks awesome... that does perfect justice to the amazing story about you shooting him! Congrats again!
It's all lakes and swamps up here, eh? :D He spent all fall up on the ridge behind the lodge. There are a couple small swamps w/in a 1/2 mile, but not cedar swamps. Mostly tag and slash. There are a couple black spruce swamps I have my eye on this year. One of which is tore up with moose sign. Time to get the cameras back there!
From his diet, swamp bucks tend to have darker antlers. Looking at yours I would bet he did not live in a cedar swamp. Cedar swamp bucks have darker anters, but they tend to have a golden tint to them. Grizzy has a nice one mounted. I have not seen many buck with antlers as dark as yours, but I bet it has something to do with what he was eating in that swamp. MI has a ton of cedar swamps, and majority bucks I see have darker antlers. It's been a dream of mine to shoot a swamp buck likes yours, swamp bucks are what lengends are made of
