These are confirmed dead bucks in a couple different areas that I hunt that I had pictures of during the season. The last picture is the buck I shot with a bow. The 1st picture the biggest buck is a 3 1/2 year old, believe it or not, that was shot while chasing a doe on the evening of 10/30. His gross score is 154". The 2nd picture is a buck I had pictures of on 10-27. He was shot by a friend nearly 2 1/2 miles away on the evening of 10/29. The 3rd picture is a buck that was hanging in our valley and ended up being killed the first week of November on the other side of the ridge. The 4th picture is a buck I had pictures of early one morning in the valley and he was shot about 500 yards from this location by the neighbor while chasing a doe and fighting with several other bucks in the same valley at 1030am. It is fun to keep track of where the deer end up.
hmm cant find my post... well i will try again..First great deer and pics. Can you tell us if the ir pics affected the pattern of these bucks did they ever show up in the daylight or back to the same spot for more pics.. I am working on spots that my cam got pics of deer like yours but most of the big boys never cam back to my trailcam setups.. I am not sure how much was the flash or just luck? thanks
Ultramax, Most of the deer I get pictures of are at night because they are along or in fields. Very seldom do I put the cameras in the woods. I don't like to go in the woods unless I am hunting. But yes most of these deer I have pictures of on different occasions, some daylight others only at night. What I have noticed is the Moultrie I-40 cameras should be left on one tree for most of the season. There is a click when the shutter opens or closes and eventually the deer get used to it and will continue on a regular pattern. The Reconyx cameras I use can be put in different areas and not worried about. I used to use "white" flash camera but always placed in them on the tree puting down so the deer did not get the flash in their eyes. The problem with that is you do not always get pictures of what is behind the deer because the camera is positioned facing the ground.
