I like the camo cast idea too...if it comes to that! Let's hope not! Colby, Honestly, it felt good knowing I could still ride a bike (if you know what I mean)-both deer were had with a single, well placed, shot-sniper style. I had my hunting roots firmly planted behind the stock of a rifle. As I get older and weaker (I am experiencing failing eye sight), it was nice knowing I could still used those acquired skills to help a farmer with a serious problem. Sometimes it's about doing the right thing under certain situations. I won in Missouri, trust me...I'm sure I'll have a place to hunt, at least until I die, or Richard dies Wait until you see this place next weekend. You'll understand why I'm not too worried about killing a doe. If I cannot get one in Nebraska, I'll kill one in Texas.
Well it was partly cloudy when I walked into the Doctors office at 0955. Doc says foot looks good on x-ray, NO CAST. NO more stabilizing BOOT. Told me my foot is sore due to me walking funny with the boot on. He also told me to continue on with the same restrictions, no jumping, running, standing for long periods. I walked out of the Doctor office at 11:18 and the sun is shining, know what that means? Time for an evening hunt. I am still shooting at anything that is a legal buck, I got a reprive with the foot and do not need to push my luck. I am back in the game and ready to go !!!!! Dave
Just giving you a hard time Will you know I like to shoot a rifle now and again. I like the feeling of reaching out and touching something every once in a while like my antelope hunts and the past couple weekends I broke out the AR and killed some coyotes before calving season to try and keep them in check (if thats even possible.) I hope I don't disappoint you in Nebraska or the rest of TEAM 6. The greatest team ever. Ask and ye shall recieve! Got word someone on Team 6 shot a buck (My closest neighbor to the East). I'm Keeping my fingers crossed.
Goodluck on the recovery "mystery Team 6 guy" eventhough I know who it is)) Heading to the woods myself in an hour, goodluck to those hunting.............Let's pick up the pace !!! Dave
He said it will beat 120 easily and he backed out to give it time and help another buddy look for his deer. He didn't give any details but seemed confident (if thats possible in a text). He didn't seem worried any way. Can't wait to hear the story and see it.
Will, nice buck, congrats on your successful Missouri trip! Dave, that's awesome news from the doc. Glad you'll be back in a tree (just don't break any more parts on your bow or any more of your bones PT, bow doe mojo heading your way! GO Clint!! Would love to see another buck down! We need some deer down boys, Good Luck!!
Our coals are starting to smoke a little a little breeze (like someone putting down a buck) could really get this fire going again. We can be over 1000 points by Monday, Maybe even 1100 +.
CLINT CLINT CLINT CLINT CLINT CLINT CLINT CLINT!!!!! I hope he did cause I'm sucking it up around here boys. Good to hear on your foot Dave! I'm probably not hunting today or tomorrow, family obligations. Friday is football and Saturday the forecast sucks. Not sure the next time I get to hunt guys...
Saturday - High winds, 25-35 mph sustained - gusts to 60 where I am. I won't sit in crap like that. Sunday is supposed to be a little better 15-20 with gusts to 40 but still pretty breezy. Friday is about like Sunday but I've got football tickets and with an 11:00 start its hard to get out before hand.
Matt are Lumenocks legal in Nebraska? Will need anything from Cabelas I'm thinking I'll head out a little early and stop by there.
Will-Congrats again. Looks like you had an awesome time in Missouri. Dave-Great news on the foot man. Now get out there and KILL! Clint-Good luck my man! I found 3 blood dogs within 3 hours of me. The first I called was just over an hour away. I talked to his wife, and their dog lost a leg and is no longer able to track. No answers on the other 2.
Ok I lied, I'm going hunting this afternoon. Probably try to take my son tomorrow morning for a little while, we can be back by dinner time!
Way to go Clint. Greatest news I heard in awhile. Heading to the woods now !!!! North middle it is Colby, let us see if your hunch pays off. Dave
