    Matt, Tony, and anybody else,

There is nothing to be jealous about. Wyoming is loaded with antelope; they are there for the taking! I will gladly show you guys everything I know about hunting them! It's just a matter of getting out there! Let's plan a hunt next year and go! Their season starts August 15th every year. If we go, it'll be a warm up hunt to everyone's late start deer seasons. What say you? Wouldn't it be cool if everyone from Team 6 met in Wyoming next year, for a week, to goat hunt?

    Non-resident tag....$285
    gas to get there.....(car pooling)?
Brother Will takes care of the rest.

    Who's in?

That would be a hoot, think my wife would let me do a WY antelope hunt and then follow it up a few weeks later with a CO elk hunt... yeah I don't either... I'm not going to say no though, I would love to do it.

If we could actually get a few from the group to go out I will do everything in my power to join in the fun.

Let's plan it then, as a group! Next year, before March 15th, we'll need to apply for Wyoming area 46 type 2 antelope tags. I would recommend applying for an area 46 type 7 tag as well. The type 2 is for "any" Antelope and the type 7 is for a doe/fawn tag. Applying both licenses will cover your bases in the event you're not draw for the "any".

With one of these tags in hand, you are then eligible to purchase an archery permit (another $30 for non-residents). You must also purchase a $12.50 habitat stamp.

I will provide all the camping gear for those willing to venture west. How awesome would it be to meet each other in person? Moreover, it will be the perfect time to discuss how we plan on beating the pretenders in 2012!

We could do food as a "B.Y.O.F" or everyone could toss in $50 and I'll have full meals and snacks waiting when we all get there.

I'm serious! let's make this happen!

Wow, very tempting offer Will. Not sure that I can swing it with my job but, I will definitely think about it!
Nice goat too, sir. You are the man, let there be no doubt about it!! :hail:

I went up to the Wisconsin property over the weekend. The place was loaded with deer trails, and found a bunch of big trees just shredded from last season!
I put up a couple of mock scrapes and a camera, we shall see what shows up.
I may have to show this spot a little more attention this year.

    Fred,

The season in Wyoming starts the 15th of August. You could fly into Denver on a Friday, Sept. 17th and be back to work on Wednesday the 22nd. You would only miss a couple days of work. I would pick you up from the airport.

Give your spot the attention it deserves!

Can I come live with one of you guys if my wife kicks me out? I kid, my wife is great, but 2 hunting trips in a month might be pushing it. Not to mention we are going to Europe for 2 weeks next summer, cash may be a little tight. I'm going to have to start laying the ground work today for this one.

    Matt,

Something to consider, a doe/fawn tag can be had for $49...plus the $30 for the archery permit...plus $12.50 for a conservation stamp. The total cost would be $91.50 plus fuel costs from Nebraska! Tony can swing by and pick your butt up.

Do it guys, you won't regret it. I got back Saturday from my first antelope hunt out there with Dustin and it was an absolute blast. You already know it, but Will would show you guys a hell of a great time.

Will, got your message. Thanks a ton for the congrats bro! Wish we could have hooked up this spring. We will definitely have to sometime in the near future.

    Dan,

Like me, you have found a great friend in that Dustin character. I am happy the two of you are able to share the west together. With a goat under your belt, maybe it's time to start thinking about an elk! I'll be in Oz for this year's archery elk season, but I will not miss this hunt two years in a row. You're welcome to venture a little farther south for a bull...just say the word and I'll do my best to put you on one!

Thanks for the kind words amigo!

The money is less the issue, it is more the time. I WILL be elk hunting in CO next fall so leaving the family twice in a month for hunting is hard for me to justify. I did mention it to my wife last night and she didn't say much so I'll keep it in the conversation and try to sock some money away. I'm definitely interested if we can put something together. Thanks for offering this up, after driving through Wyoming a few times and seeing the hundreds of antelope along I-80 it is definitely a dream of mine to get out there.

    Isaiah,

    When you're ready, come!

I went back up to Wyoming this weekend to fill two doe tags. I blew the only ooportunity I had. Sometimes, when you focus too hard on the details you miss the big picture. I settled my thirty yard pin on this fat doe's sweet spot. My sight picture was perfect; I was completely stable. I tripped my trigger and my arrow made a nice hole through my ground blind. Mechanicals don't work so well when shot through material on their way to the target. What a bonehead I am!

    Some more photos...

I have six waterholes that need to be manned next year. Here are two in the distance. That's my empty ground blind.

Haven't checked the team thread for a while, Sorry guys... BIG congrats Will awesome story and Pics as usual.

The Antelope trip... At that price, this could be very possible for me, Just have to figure out how to get over there! Plenty of time to decide that though... I'm not saying I can, But I'm going to try, I'll talk to the wife, see how she feels about it.... Heck, she'll probably beg to come! LOL. But in any case, that would be absolutely awesome! Keep us updated Will, I'm sure I'll be in contact with you before the time comes, But as of right now, I'm very serious about this!

We are going to have some serious game, roughly 325 signups this year. I wonder if they will stick with 10 per team or bump it up? I guess we'll find out soon....

So... we were left completely off the list and shorted 2 guys???

Ok so we are now on the list but still short 2 guys. There are a few pretty solid teams in there.
