Cowboy, the only doe that has gotten close is that old ***** that always seems to know I am somewhere in the area .. it's like she comes around to show me she is there and walks the wrong way ....3 times she has done this, once walking the right way and she busted me ... AND she is toting two yungins with her ... teaching them how to aggravate me in the years to come

Ok guys Team 13 is nipping at our heels and would really like to pull ahead. They about did it but since Clint knocked a doe down today we kept our little 72 point cushion. We need to put some more deer down boys.

    Team 13 - Total - 529"
    pastorandrew - 50
    DoubleLung84 - 50
    Jake / OH - 50
    pastorandrew - 116 4/8"
    atkbowhunter - 50
    Trlblzr3 - 162 4/8"
    sycamoretwitch - 50

They have another 50 thats not entered yet so they are at 579" we are at 651 6/8" with Clints doe figured into that.

I'm not worried due to the fact isaiah, will, scott, nybowhunter, and Reese all still have both deer. Plus I know Clint and Scott are both holding out for monsters which will be awesome and Will, well what can you say about Will that guy is a pure hunter and will put down some bone plus we have a couple guys that can still put down does.

Has anyone heard from Reese lately?

Explain to me how it goes from BOOM yesterday to BUST today. Yesterday I ended up seeing over 20 deer, the large majority within 30 yards, to 0 deer today. I got skunked. Karma just gave a swift kick in the sack!

Windy as heck this afternoon and tomorrow, back at work now to save some hours and try to use them next week before I leave. Sunday and Monday look good weather wise, I'll hit it hard then.

Drenman my only logical explanations is its like an hour before prom and all the boys and girls are getting all cleaned up for the dance. Its fixing to rain deer and no not the ones Santa has.

Good luck buddy hope a big one comes your way.

Conditions are'nt great for Illinois this weekend, but I'm going back out with pops. Good chance we'll have some action, and hoping he could get something.

Thanks Colby, it's been a great year so far, but it really has just begun. I haven't even been to my little honeyhole in Southern Illinois since opening weekend.
The past 4 years, I've taken bucks that I have had mounted from there. If I'm ever gonna kill a booner, it will likely be from that spot.
Next Friday, I'll be heading there for 6 straight days, can't wait!

That is exactly what it is like Colby, I have a teenage son that is just getting serious about the dating scene and watching a buck and doe is a whole lot like watching teenagers trying to communicate. I had a real nice buck and doe within 50 yards for an hour so yesterday afternoon. I learned more in that hour about how deer communicate and how similar they are to humans in their relationships than most will ever know. It was absolutely hillarious watching the buck try to show how cool he is and thinking he is in charge while the doe absolutely was running the show. I named the buck Epic cause I could have written novel about their relationship while they were under me. If he would have been just a couple inches bigger it would have even had a tragic ending.

Clint congrats on the doe, pictures or it didn't happen!

I should learn to fletch arrows. When I'm bored and not hunting or practicing with my bow I get on Cabelas website and spend money. I decided I needed some things in preperation for my out of state hunt. I got some new cold gear base layers and some 800 gram boots I got a little cold video taping the other evening when it was snowing here.

Come on Thanksgiving it can't get here fast enough

Colby, IMHO fletching your own is the way to go. You can play around with different arrows, fletching, broadheads etc. Gives you a better understanding also what exactly your arrow is doing with each modification you make. Besides, I like being one of those do-it-yourself type guys.

Anyways, just did a new arrow with Norway Fusion 2 inch vanes. So far I like how they shoot. Heading to the woods soon, wish me luck, I need it.
