hey guys, how will it work if there are a ton more people this yr? meaning if the team size is increased? will we take on a new teammate or will we just ride with what we have?

bout this time of year is when i really starting planning out my season and start making my hit list. may grab another stand or two but pretty much set. get the gear all washed up nice and keep shooting the bow.

I believe 10 is the max .... but in the past if they increased team size, they added to the team the # necessary to even out the.teams ... it is all irrelevant as we will dominate this year no matter what :D

My solution for us to the possible team size being increased. Let's all start shooting right and left handed. Whoever can shoot the best both ways gets to enter a buck with a right and left handed bow......................problem solved......next issue please))))

Hey Clint, good to see you back! Having a full team just made my day! Yeah, looks like the entire white-tail nation wants a piece of Team Six. I say, "bring it!"

Maybe we can hand pick a star if they add more than ten? Rocky (youngfart) or John (sliverflicker) would be my choice!

I'm a non trail cam guy, I cannot add any horn porn that way. I will be out searching for potential targets though. Alaska is just around the corner....

I'm going to try and get started on some stands Sunday. After pouring over some topos here recently I'm going to try and permission from the neighboring landowner about putting a couple stands on him too. He's a great guy, and since he's a farmer he loves deer hunters.

I finally slipped out Saturday morning with my son and a buddy to set cameras, gonna be a long 3-4 weeks. While we were out we made a 1/2 mile walk back around to this little 20 acre bean field that borders the woods on one side and CRP on the other to put up a camera on the main travel corridor. We just hit the field edge when 2 does a small buck and 3 fawns jumped up and ran out into the beans. My son had his binos with him so he was checking out the little buck when I realized there were 3-4 other bucks bedded down in the beans, you could just see tines sticking up above the green leaves. I asked my son for the binos and started glassing about the same time one about 50 yards out stood up and the buddy with me goes OH MY GOD.... obviously they look bigger in velvet but they said he was a monster. Unfortunetly I only got to see him for a second because I was glassing a buck about 150 yards away that had stuck his head up out of the beans, he will go north of 140 and my buddy and son said he was small compared to the other guy. My friend said it was the biggest racked deer he's ever seen on the hoof. My guess is that it is Towers, that huge 8 that I had on camera last year, but hopefully we get some pictures so we can know for sure.

    Is it hunting season yet???

    Dren,

Sounds like good things will be happening in your neck of the woods. Stay pumped!

    Anything good to report PT?

Scott, Stay in good standing with the neighbor. Excellent move!

Isaiah, man we are counting on you this year. We need you to bring home a Illinois pig! I can call my friend in Petersburg to help increase your odds. Just say so...

I'm off to hunt bou this Friday. I'll give a full report when I return.

Starting to get moving finally. Did some shooting and all seems well. Decided I am going to build some arrows this year again. Decided to go with the Beman speed arrows with a 3 inch Norway fusion vane. Other than that not much going on. Will prob. put some cameras out this weekend and a few stands up the following weekend.

Hope all is well with everyone, I am trying to get out of my slump but man it is hard.

My first whitetail sit will probably be 9/24 or 9/25, just depends on the weather and what the family has going since I'm going to be gone the 14th-19th.

Well the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Ugly is I finally get motivated to start my prep and I can not find a descent vendor that sells the new arrows I want.

The bad is I got a call this morning from the lady who owns the property I was hunting, she will not allow hunting this year due to her hiring a clear cut company to take out the deadfall...............ARGGGHHH.

The Good is I still have the Thomas farm eventhough it is small. Also Mr Thomas turned me on to a new Organic farmer 10 miles away with an 110 acre farm who is looking for an exclusive bowhunter only. I talked with the guy this morning and he seemed interested, he has an AG permit so I have to take out the required number of deer on the permit. Hopefully he calls me.

    Be safe and Hunt hard

Sorry to hear about the ground Dave, good luck on that other property.

My buddy swapped cards already this weekend, got a couple decent bucks but no slammers. Hopefully we get a little more movement this week as the temps are supposed to be much cooler. When I get a couple minutes I'll try to post a couple pics.

Boys, sorry to hear of the loss of one of your teammates. Poor Reese. Kid never saw it coming. Ruined his falls by going and getting engaged. Kinda like a buck in rut, it'll be the downfall of him........and Team 6.

Congrats Reese! Just let the wife know that your primary commitment is to team 6 and that you will make room for her too.
