Rained out...............saw 5 does and a small buck at 4:40 milling around at approx 60 yards. Then the floodgates opened, as soon as it started pouring they headed to thicker cover. I sat there in the pouring rain until 5:45 then I started shivering. Having just got over a week long flu bug I decided to head home and warm up.

To many more days in the season to sit there drenched and freezing. Going out in the morning if this storm front passes through.

Will....if it wasnt for my Father you would be my hero but he claims that spot.))))

Tony.....you told me to go hunting in the drizzle and put the pointy end of the arrow on the string. No more advice from you))

    Everyone else..........SOMEONE KILL SOMETHING)))):nana:

    Dave,

Thanks for the kind words. I'll play second fiddle behind your pops anyday of the week!

I went out last night with good friend, Paul Seward. I helped him arrow his first ever deer-a doe muley at 40 yards. We we're hunting high, at 12,000 feet above sea level, and among the bristle cone pines. Paul arrowed his deer with only twenty minutes of daylight left-I was ranging for him. Elk were bugling all around us...such an incredible day to be in the woods. I'll get a "success" photo up when Paul forwards one to me.

This morning, I had five coyotes wonder past just outside bow range. I was so ready to smoke one. I also had eight bucks in a bachlor group easing their way towards me. Two of the bad boys would have done Team 6 a tremendous amount of good. Sadly, a lady and her dog appeared from nowhere and freighten them off. Unfortunately, I'm obliged to share Colorado's mountains with other recreational users... ARGH!

I'm heading back out tonight and will hunt all day tomorrow.

Cool story Will....keep at it. I went out tonight and saw 2 doe and 2 fawn. Both fawns still feeding off momma so could not pull the trigger on them. Still early with lots of time left. No hunting tomm. got some chores to do.........will make time to adjust two stands as I have been seeing deer move.

The hurricane really messed up thier trails with large downed trees. Been using the game cameras and hunting/sightings to decide were to move stands to. Think I got it figured out.

    Keep hunting guys !!

So yesterday, I was moving to intercept three bucks...lost them making up distance. I searched around a little and then decided to head back to the truck. On my way out, I came across a one in a million deer-one that just had to go home with me! He's a Booner for sure, and I'm guessing this monarch fell to a mountain lion.

    This is my big woods

And this was one of the Hoss' which reside here:

This is a find of a lifetime! I'm elated! Can you image what it would feel like to pass an arrow through a beast like this?

What a beast Will, too bad you didn't get to see him on the hoof.

I didn't hunt at all last weekend, I had a get together with some college buddies we did some turkey hunting and fishing but I'm the only bow hunter so no deer hunting at all. I'll be back at it next weekend.

Huck did you watch the broncos Sunday? I think we need to pay for Orton to go on a hunting trip in Africa or somewhere far far way. Oh yeah its a one way ticket.

What a beast Will. That is a true giant my friend.

Saturday is my opener finally! I'm working in the morning, so I won't get out until the afternoon.

Let me get this off my plate. This is a photo of the deer good friend Paul Seward shot. I think it was the biggest doe I have ever seen:

Colby, I did see the Broncos. I think the coaching sucked! Fox is an idiot. A three year old could have out coached him. Orton did his job... Fox didn't. They won't let Tbow play because they don't want to pay him another 14 million. He gets that if he takes 45% of the snaps. Bowlen doesn't give a rat's ass about the fans...and they pay the bills. Sad.

The deer is being score...I'll know by the end of the week. I took it to the taxidermist and I am going to mount it. A deer that size needs to be seen by more than me..and in his true form. I love bringing them back to life.

Thanks for the kind words Peak.

    Matt, I'll let you know....

Isaiah and Scott, get em men! I will be thinking good thoughts for both of you!
