Got off work, and with all the cool weather we've been having I was dying to check my cameras. I got one blurry pic of what looks to be a 3.5 year old 8 pointer. He looks wide, but not too tall. He's getting shot if he walks out. Also, the 8 pointer that I have shared before, keeps showing up to get his picture taken. I've nicknamed him Buddy, and if he gives me a shot, I will have a hard decision to make. But now, for the star of the show. Earlier in the thread I posted a side shot of a great looking velvet 9 pointer. From the angle, it was hard to tell just how wide the buck was, but he showed back up this past week for a few photos. I have no pics of him last year to my knowledge, but he is an absolute beast of a 9 pointer in my books. The buck he is shown with is Buddy, as they even decided to shove each other around for a bit... He flew right to the top of the hit list for this year, since my two "Booners" from last season have failed to show themselves. All I have to do is make sure that I put myself in the best position to have the chance to take this or a different buck this fall. I can't wait...
Wow, great pictures Scott. I would take either one of them. Looks like Buddy has a great double throat patch too!
Shame he didn't grow the matching tine... I've got a buck on the wall almost exactly like that. Good luck with him!
Good eye Fred, I hadn't even noticed that! You just may talk me into shooting him yet, he would make a beautiful mount. Greg, thanks. I was thinking the exact same thing after the first picture I got of him in velvet. If his right side matched his left, then he would look just that much more impressive. He's still got plenty of antler a top his head for me though. BTW, shot my bow tonight. I have to admit I was nervous pulling it back and shooting that first shot, for fear that something may of been tweaked out of place last night, but all is well. Shot about 35 arrows through it, and she is still in top shape.
Side Note---Looking back through my pictures from this year, this is the same buck that I posted a few weeks back that was losing his velvet. It's hard to see, since he was walking out of the frame, but the left G2 and G3 are unmistakable.
Some nice bucks CC. What I do is put them on photobucket. Then just copy the IMG tag, and paste it right in the post. You can resize them there if necessary, and post multiple, full sized pics that way too. Will, there are very few ag fields around, lots of acorns though. This is a big woods area, and tough to figure out. I know they travel through, but mostly at night. You know, Wisconsin deer are pretty heavily pressured, and they seem to be smarter than the average deer. I've never seen such nocturnal behavior anywhere else. Just a matter of time though!
Tommy, get in touch with Rockinchair... We have 12 right now... He may have a spot for you though... Good Luck!!
Guys, I know speed doesn't matter and some of you could care less, but I just chrono'd my 60lb hoyt yesterday....:D!!!
