I've been looking at the versa clip for a while but just haven't ordered on yet. I like the ease and simplicity of it. Maybe Santa is watching. lol And yes they do have models and attachments that but a barrier between you and your cold steel. They also have attachments that will cover your trigger if that is a concern. Since we have open carry I don't have to worry about the gun being seen in any way but I still conceal and I don't want other to know I have it. What do y'all see as pros and cons of this.
I stumbled across this youtube channel while back, I'm not even sure this chick still makes videos but it focused on stuff for women and had some good info about carrying. Haven't watched most of videos but maybe it's worth a look. Idk might help ya convince the wife ha. Holsters: Holsters - YouTube Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
I must have poorly worded my past replies. She does not carry. She gives me grief about carrying and is paranoid if I print at all while carrying. That's where this clip idea came from. I can see there will be no printing what so ever with the Shield and this clip. I dont care if I have some printing when she isn't around.
Ha well nevermind. I even re read stuff couple times and still thought you were talking bout your wife carrying the last couple replys to people. Guess we both would have failed English class ha Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
I can see why you guys thought that reading my replies again. The issue is, her issue with any printing on me when I carry. Myself, I do not care if I have some printing. However, she does as it makes her nervous and she thinks it will cause trouble sometime.
Buckeye I carry the shield as well and I carry using the BLACKHAWK Appendix Reversible Carry I carry SOB so I like the way it sits Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah, I know the feeling. The Lil lady gets upset when I carry my Sig Legion in the small of my back with the neoprene holster I have saying someone will see it. I tell her the only people who will notice are carrying also so we are good....but she likes to worry. I always say, well, I'm the one with the gun so I think we're ok lol
Ok I was confused on the printing as well. Here's an exercise to try with your wife, it will either A. Prove that its not as noticeable as she thinks or B. She'll get tired of you asking and be comfortable with it. You'll get to model for her, try on a bunch of your clothes and see if she can see it. But sometimes have the gun on, sometimes not. Sometimes have it on your normal side and sometimes not. The goal is to get her to not be able to spot it. She can spot it now because she knows it's there. I don't know what belt you use but a good one designed for the purpose of carrying makes loads of difference. Placing a spare mag helps balance the load out and helps with printing. Alot of times I'd wear one of those "wife beater" under shirts under a T-shirt because it seems to "slow" the fabric of the shirt if that makes sense. Dark colors , plaids and patterns work well. If you have one of "those" vest, throw that soma***** out. If all that fails, simply hold her hand and tell her that your going to carry because you love her and want to do all you can to protect her and don't ever want to say "If I had only......" It may just change her out look to the point that she no longer cares if you print. Best of luck.
As far as these go I'm not a fan of carrying any gun with the trigger exposed. We have seen issues with the versa carry snapping off in the barrel. It is my opinion and that of other more seasoned firearms instructors that these are the absolute worst option available. Which pistol do you have?
Right now my two main CCW are a Glock 43 and FNS 9c, i carry both IWB with stealthgear holsters. My Glock I also use a clinger single clip holster with a 15degree can't. In NY all carry must be fully concealed, neither of these print to any noticeable degree. I also at times carry kimber micro in a tuckable IWB holster as well, mostly when I am in a suit as it conceals excellent .
